hey there, this is my first time posting on this board although i have been floating around for awhile now.
i have recently aquired quite a shitload of Psilocybe Subaeruginosa, at the moment i have them all layed out on a tui box in front of two piss poor weak fans.
now im unsure of the best way to proceed to the next stage of drying, i am planning on storing these for a long time maybe longer than a year. some people say get a dehydrator but i dont have that kindof cash at the moment, and im sure theres a cheaper way of doing it.
ive read alot of posts about using silica gel type stuff like damp rid inside a container. but in my current house i have a hot water cupboard that is very dry and it doesnt get too hot at the moment as its during the winter. my flatmate uses it to dry out all her herbs and stuff and says it does the job perfectly for that.
i was just wondering if anyone has had any experience drying in a hot water cupboard before and what kindof results did you get?? the amount of heat is a bit worrying as i dont want to loose any of the psylocybin in the process, so my flatmate suggested we could put them a little bit away from the hot water cylinder and they should still dry out nice and good.
if i use this method i dont think i would need to get any silica gel type stuff as my flatmate reckons it completely drys stuff out. any help would be greatly appreciated, as i really dont want to fuck this batch up. thanks.
read on stuff.co.nz that today the current humidity here is 92%. if that has any relevance.

Fan drying has always worked for me. Just laying them out on newspaper with a fan going in the room for a while. Might be a good idea to shift them now and then if you dry them that way.
With big Shiitake specimens, morels, and stuff like that, sometimes I tie a really thin piece of string around the stems and hang them somewhere.
I've never had a problem with them rotting or not drying right this way.

well id say the cupboard is the way to go, as long as its not hot enough to kill the Psylicobin. i think its around 95*C
if that doesnt work, then just leave them for about 2, maybe 3 days under the fans.
