sorry, but i dont have a pic yet, but i find the mushrooms in colorado, mainly on peoples grass out by the sidewalk...
they are a completely white with just a few little brown wrinkles on them, and the stem are underneath the grass line, they have darkish brown gills, and...hum...well the stem is white and about two inches long maximum and not hollow...they are usually just in groups of one or two and the cap is about 2 inches wide by one inch thick and the stem is about 3/4 of an inch thick...
are these the salad mushies? they look like them but overgrown...
PICS SOON!

Salad shrooms?
Based on the description, I would consider it something not to eat for now.. At least until we can have a closer, more detailed look at them.

In the Denver area the most common Agaricus species, unfortunately, is A. xanthodermus, a poisonous species. We do get edible Agaricus here, but they are difficult to identify accurately to species, so I tend to not recommend them for eating.
Happy mushrooming!

Agree with ToxicMan, the Agaricus species are hard to distinguish the edible ones from the toxic ones. Here are some I found but did not eat for this reason.

Yeahh... ,it sounds good but if you get the wrong one your going to shit your self inside out. Your best off starting with something like Oysters and Chanterelle's.

Morels would be a good thing for that, unfortunately, they are known to grow in the spring, and the season is pretty much over now. Try looking for some oysters maybe? Morels and oysters are my favorite with eggs.

It doesn't help that we just had the worst year in the Denver area for morels in several years. I've checked with several people I know who are avid morel hunters and the morels just didn't come up here this year.
Oysters are coming up, so they're probably your best bet right now. They're also a lot easier to accurately identify to an edible species.
Happy mushrooming!

It must be the same thing for my area. I didn't find a single morel in any of my patches this year. Each year in the past, my morel spots would produce lots. I went out a lot this year too, and just ended up getting frustrated.
I posted pictures of a bunch of them last year in this forum. They were all over the place.. by the thousands. This year something was just not right. Every one of my patches were totally void of morels.
The only ones I saw were a few here and there and some specimens that someone threw in the street!
I found an oyster last week, but only one - it was pretty old and beat up so I just left it behind.
