here is a question to ponder... If you were to go back into the past 50 years and etch your name into a tree and then go forward 25 years and kill your grandfather is that mark on the tree there in 50 years

time travel to the past is impossible. time travel into the future is possible.

i understand this, however, when i first was asked this question a stange feeling of how incredible stange time is attacked me. If you were to actually go back in time and kill your grandfather then he could not actually die becuase you were never born creating a vortex/repeation and in my mind, the end of time.

you are here..
If you go back and kill your grandfather, you will as yourself, be killing your potential self, thus you would be the one killing, even after your grandfather and your other potential self, is dead..

The only prerequisite for time travel is understanding what time is.
Time is an illusion. Time is something that is created by the central nervous system. In reality there is only Eternity happening.
All things are happening at once, simultaneously in eternity.
Time is Male, that is why it seems linear and straight. Space is Female, it is everything that is curved.

what came first the chicken or the egg? they both came into being at the exact same moment, and they both uphold each other, and maintain each other like a balance. Like time, space, and consciousness. one didn't come first. they came into being at the exact same moment. Same with a family unit, the mother (space), the father (time), and the child (consciousness).
Time is a sort of way for us to measure the immeasurable. These 3 are one. (simple trinity of force)

Well, if you are over the required age of 18 to post here (you better fucking be ), then I don't think it will matter if you kill your grandfather twenty-five years ago, because he will have already propagated his genetics and produced your father.
You could be like Fry and be your grandfather, as the result of time travel.
 Peace.

I don't think it's a matter of being possible or not. It has only been discovered so far that when matter approaches light speed, that it's relation in time is going slower than say, stationary people on earth. It is merely altering time, not going into the future. And if it can be altered one way, how can you prove it can't be done the other way. Who knows what the future holds.... what is the future?

I think that if time travel ever beomes possible that there would have to be many different time lines that take every possible action into account. This is because too many paradoxes would result otherwise. For instance: What if you went back in time and killed your father before you were born and then impregnated a female. So how could you have offspring if you were never born? it would be possible to set up a situation where you could be your own child which is also illogical. That would altogether eliminate tha possibilty of your becoming nonexistant. The many time line theory would allow one to change a possible past, but it would still not change your present, past, or future.

A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

what's the question? lol if you go back in time and kill your father?
you've already done that, we all have. you realize that you are more than one person right? your mother and father, your sisters and brothers, your bloodline stretching back to the beginning of time, and forward to the end of time.
you are altering the past and the future right now with every slightest move of your fingers.
you'd be surprised at what you are upholding with your life. if you knew you probably couldn't handle it. this is why nobody really wants to know.
as i said, time travel is only a matter of understanding what time is. it's a huge responsibility that nobody wants to deal with. but some do yea.

i hate to mention the name christ because it usually turns peoples brains off, thanks to the church.
but christ is basically a time traveller. what is heaven? a return to eternity (timelessness). and i've already explained eternity if you need to go back and read that part.

here is a similar question that involves time, and will probably be a little less contradicting. In space, how can time possibaly exist if everything is completely black/lightless meaning there is nothing to compare movement to? Essentially the concept of self would be destroyed because without sound, sight, or smell a human is no different then space itself.
