Golden Teachers vs. B+

Golden Teachers. Do they take longer than most to cultivate and fruit? Are they rye lovers? I have a BRF setup and they are taking forever. I made another batch 2 weeks later of B+ and they are already catching up. what's the deal?

i often run B+ and GT side by side as they're my tried and true favorites. IME B+'s always move a little quicker in colonizing and time to pin than GTs... not a drastic difference but noticable nonetheless. GT's will do just great on BRF and when they do come you will be rewarded for your patience.

It could be many factors. The substrain in your syringe may have problems, the moisture content could be different in your newer batch, you might not have packed the substrate as tightly in the new batch, etc. All cubensis will colonize rye. I would vote for GTs over B+ personally, but both are great strains. Flip your GT jars over if they are around 75% done to force some air exchange. GL.

yup exactly... talking about just your grow here there could be an infinite number of reasons why some might go faster or slower than others. but in general after putting both B+ and GT through just about every tybe of substrate there is and using a bunch of fruiting methods i'm confident in saying the B+ usually wins the race by a little each time.

I have a 1/2 pint glass (GT) with good mycelium going after 1 week. I also have a 1 pint jar which is about 9-10 days old and showing no mycelium. The 1 pint jar substrate looks more like wet verm that the lighter colour of my 1/2 pint one but the same ratios were used. Wierd. The 1 pint jar i sterilized in the microwave which kinda made it shrink where as my 1/2 pint one was steam sterilized. Oh well

well i know for a fact a few differences. the b+ batch had tape covered on the holes for PC, it was definitely packed tighter, and the GT batch had 3 1/2 cups as oppose to the recommended 3 cups. thanks guys

B+ and GT are two distinct, but equally as awesome strains. BOTH are great for FAST colonization (GT's went faster for me,and it LOVED rye), FAST fruting, and BIG yield! HOWEVER:
GTs: less visual (still very visual if they are potent) but waaay more philosophical\spiritual (my personal FAVORITE reason for dosing psycs)
B+: Very fun + visual high! I felt more connected to a "party of lucid flowing visuals" then i did to "The spirits" on this strain .
I could be a crazy tripped-every-weeked whacked out motherfucker.
But im right, fuck everyone else.

-SDP
PS: ditch the BRF, use RYE + WBS in 1 quart jars (w/ shaking, 10 day colonization time w00t), then graduate to straw w\hpoo. Use Liquid cultures. Do grain 2 grain. PM me for any questions
