I haven't read anything on any of the forums that suggests using the wood chip hamster bedding in the same way you would use straw. Is this possible... does anyone know?? should i try an experiment????

It's a requirement to know what species of wood is in it. 'Hamster bedding' tells you nothing. It could be cedar which won't work at all, or pine. If it's birch, alder or aspen, it could work for the woodlover species such as oyster, reishi or azures. RR

Most hamster bedding is cedar since it naturally has properties that keeps mold away from your pet. Unfortunately that means shrooms too.

OK.... cool.. good to know.. so here another question.. i have seen many Tek on poo.. but i don't think i fully understand the process... currently i have 12 quart WBS jars with B+, and TX strains... i am going to select the jars with the best rhizzo growth to do a grain to grain transfer to a few 5 lb bags of Rye berries.... the next step i would like to take is to incorporate some sort of poo into the scene.. ( i was planning on doing straw, but unfortunately there is NO straw anywhere near where I'm from).. how do you think i should proceed?? what are some techniques that have worked for you guys???

Yeah its particularly lethal to ferrets. I haven't actually heard of a hamster or gerbil dieing from it but I've seen breathing problems.
