So I inoculated like 15 jars and I'd say 6 have a good amount of colonization. It's been a lil over 3 weeks though so I'd expect them to be fully colonized. manyof them I tried Ryche Hawk's bird seed tek, which had a total of 3 successful jars. going slowly but sure enough they're getting there while the vast others are moping along and have 1/4 of the jar colonized... The others I just used corn which is colonizing beautifully.
I did Creeper, Golden Teacher and Hawaiian. The creepers are slower, the GT are always typically fast as they've been with my previous grows, and the hawaiians are average I guess.
Although the mycelium in the hawaiians have this yellowish color to them. Is this normal?? it's with all the hawaiians I inoculated.
What's up here? Are the cakes too dry??? the corn seems to be doing the best.
Appreciate it fellas.

well, what size jars are you using? Also, with my previous experiences of the three i grew, ecuadors were the fastest, then GT, then amazons... Maby you used the wrong type of bird seed?
just my cents

I have pint and quart jars. The pint jars aren't even full colonized. the quart jars that have corn are fully colonized.
they're in 2 tupplewear containers. one has water with a fish tank heater at 85 then the other tupplewear is in that other one with water surrounding it.
BUT... I felt the water and it wasn't as warm as it should be so I just got another heater. my old one is ~4years old. so maybe that was it.
