This jar [Opinion needed]
    #5673431 - 05/25/06 03:18 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Most of my other jars don't have 'moisture spots' like this one. Does this jar have too much moisture content? Think it will be fine?

*Note: These pics are all of this one jar in question (each inoculation hole except the 4th beacuse the picture came out blurry).
Thanks!

I think that this jar would be fine, just make sure to looks for contaminants...The only bad thing that could happen other than contamination would be it taking longer to colonize fully...

Good thing that it should make it! Do you still agree that there's too much moisture content though or does it look about right?

When doing PF style grows your substrate should have the consistency of damp sand. If your substrate is smooshed up against the side of the jar it's too wet.

Still, If the moisture content is only like that on this jar, there shouldn't really be a problem than it takin more time to colonize.

that jar doesn't look too bad...

I've seen wetter jars fully colonize!~

As already stated...

it just might take a little longer to colonize.

And take the foil off if you have a dry verm barrier!~
