Hi, It's just a hypothesis from my own observation. My Pf Tek jar seem to colonize slower when I look at them (under low light) 2 times a day than if a look at them 0 to 1 time a day. It's only speculation. Maybe in a advanced state, the cake received the little light as a pin formation signal, and then slow their mycelium growth to concentrate on the pins growth. Then when returning in darkness, re-begin slowly to colonize. Please don't tell me that it's because I look at them less often that I notice more growth! I already know that this is possible Maybe someone else notice the same thing ? I suppose that the reaction could be the same for grain colonization. Wise gardener

first of, this is no advanced topic.
as for the "observation" it simply is the case that if you keep impatiently eyeballing them for growth it appears to be slower for you.
you shouldnt take your jars out anyway every day, leave them in the dark for a week, the givem a look, wait another weak and so on ..

well yes i do.
*edit
shoot up a "control jar" next time and keep it incubating/colonising in light, that should show you whatsup.

Light has no effect on colonizing mycelium. This is also not a cultivation forum. RR
