dunking a 50/50 casing?

I am on the second flush of my first casings. I regularly spray but have slowed that down due to mushies growing on it now. My casing even though I still spray it is very dry. Is it possible to rehydrate casings inbetween flushes, or is that just setting yourself up for cotamination or other problems. any help is appreciated.

dunk between flushes.
After misting, fan a bunch to dry off the pins.

"Dunking is an excellent way to re-hydrate your substrate between flushes. You can dunk large trays or tubs by placing in the sink or bathtub and allowing the faucet to fill the tub so the water runs over the side and down the sink drain. Dunk your bulk projects like this for two or three hours maximum. It doesn't take overnight to dunk a bulk grow the way it does for tightly packed brf cakes. The running water will prevent bacteria buildup during the dunk. Cakes can be dunked right in the jar they grew in by filling it up with water and placing in the refrigerator overnight with the lid on the jar. RR "

I have a wbs spawned to horsepoo in a turkey tray without a casing. I have the feeling that the continuous effect of the faucet on the same myc spot for 3 hours would do damage?

Run the water very slowly.
Being a turkey roasting pan, pull out the aluminum a touch and have it fill in that little hole.

The substrate being dunked should be a couple of inches below the water level. The water from the faucet in that case will be of no harm. Usually, you need to put a rock or something else on top of the substrate to keep it from floating. If it's a large bulk grow, use several weights to keep the substrate from breaking in half if it tries to float up. RR

Yup . I use 10 pound metal weights in zip lock bags.
I do dunk mine a little bit longer , at least overnight , and add some H2O2 to the water.

My friend told me that when he dunks, he doesn't bother weighing down his casings. He does mono tubs and just fills with a gallon or 2 or reverse osmosis water, the stuff health food stores sell for $0.25 a gallon, and lets the casing float. Last grow his second flush using this method almost double that of his first! That was using 15lbs tennstudd cased w/ plain verm. Make sure that you drain excess water from casing by setting it on some kind of rack, your oven rack would work. Cover it up to prevent anything from landing on it, then let it drip for a few hours, or overnight, then place it back in its original container and add some more casing mixture to cover any exposed areas. Now I'm sure holding it under the water helps it absorb more water, but for those who don't wanna bother...
