Did I miss a step or make a mistake?

I thought that I had it down but now I am getting confused. I had 12 fully colonized jars. I took horse poo and pasteurized it. I put it into the trays. I took my jars and crumbled them up and spread a layer across the trays of poo. I then spread a very thin layer of vermiculite over the top. Am I all good? Or did I miss something?

Yea everything was sterilized. I was nervous so I kept wiping everything with clorox wipes and rubbing alcohol while I was working just in case.
But have I followed my steps right? Do I just put them to light now? Or do I need to wait a bit to let them colonize the poo? Also, did I put a layer of verm on top too early or am I ok?

The verm on the top was a mistake. You needed to mix your broken up cakes into the horse manure. Mycelium takes forever to colonize down from the top. If you just made it, I'd suggest mixing it all up, verm and all. Then cover with foil and place on a shelf for a week or two to colonize the horse manure. When it's fully colonized, you can fruit it as is by removing the foil and placing into fruiting conditions, or add a casing layer which is optional. RR

i think you were supposed to wait for the poo to colonize first then add your casing layer, but i dont think it matters, wait for a more experienced grower to answer your questions.
edit RR got to it first.

So I stirred it all up and covered. Thanks a lot. Any idea on how long they should take to colonize. What temp do you recommend? I am keeping it around 73-75 right now.
And what is everybody's favorite way to control moisture? Perlite on the bottom, hydroton and a bubble wand/airstone, just straight water with the trays above on a rack, mist, ultrasonic fogger?

that's a good temp.
It should take a week or two, or whatever. totally depends on the ratio of spawn to bulk.
Moisture? It's not that easy. Controlling all perameters is what you need to get down. RH, FAE, casing moisture content, temp.
Every parameter is important to get right.

So this is obviously my first time going the case route.
Am I supposed to see the mycelium spreading like cobweb? Or could this be/is this contamination?

Here is a fully colonized cased, ready for the layer,

Here is another, though not so pretty,

Here is one with the layer on and nearing the pining stage,
