Bush Admin to deny fuel economy bill.

A fuel economy bill is on the table which would by the year 2013 require automobiles to have a fuel eficentcy of 27.4 MPG. CUrrently Automobile Manufacturers are required to meet a 22mpg rating but that only need to be an average of the entire production fleet leaving high efficentcy cars to make up for the slack for gass guzeling SUVs. The new bill would change the way automobile manufacturers are required to meet the new standard by creating a sub class for SUVs and trucks and all other vehicals in the fleet must meet the new standard.
The projections say that an average of 1.6 billion barrels of oil a day would be saved and 260 million tons of poluion would be spared daily from entering our atmosphere, this would be the first step in helping us move away from contributing to Middle Eastern politics by reducing the need for oil and help our environment mend its self a little bit.

The Bush Administration has a diferent idea, instead of making ourselvs more energy efficent, reducing the need for foreign oil and cleaning up the environment they propose that we go to one of the most pristine places on earth, build throw away cities, ecologicaly change a massive part of the landscape and tap the ground so we can make our own oil. That way we will have plenty of oil and we wont need to put limits on how much fuel they use...
One big problem is that the Alaskan property they want to drill on has already been set aside as an environmental reserve, people worked long and hard to enact laws to keep this place clean and unadulterated but Bush believes that "for the sake of national security" we need to disregard the environmentalists and the scientists and just do it...

Does this sound right to you? We should really look at the practices by the Bush administration which by Roberts Rules of Order are unconstitutional and Illigal, they cannot just do away with a bill that has been voted on without a unanimous vote of the senate but under execuitive orders "in the time of war, parlimentry procedure may be amended for quick responce".

Which brings me to another thought, its been said that the trade center buildings may have been attacked by the U.S. in an attempt to boost political agenda, well now we have it, Bush is being able to move ahead with his political agenda uninterupted and without question under the guise of "the war on terrorism".
