5 Cakes, Window Box, and Cow Manure
    #5671831 - 05/25/06 08:04 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I have a window box full of bagged cow manure that I've broken up 5 cakes in. I covered it with a big garbage bag to make a humidity tent. Its being kept outside in the shade. This coming week calls for lots of weather in the low 80's. I was wondering if I might have any success with this. By success I mean, will the myc colonize? Advice, put downs, anything?

I have poor success with bagged cow manure.

If I were you, I would put that stuff in the ground with some straw. In layers. Under a tree.

Just bring the box inside and incubate it if you want the myc to have a good run at colonization. Outside might be too cold.

Strange.

Good luck.

so I checked the box and there was really nice fluffy white mycelium growth poking through. Right now temperatures are staying between 70-85 day and night around here, forecast calls for the same. I guess I'll keep posting my results or something, or maybe I ll just move the shit under a tree with straw. I'll give it a few more days, see how its doing. Thanks for the response.
