This guy i know has a fish tank with about an inch or so of perlite at the bottom, and it has a reptile lid on it! (2 holes for dumping crickets a spot for the light in the middle and all these rectangular holes)...well anyway these holes are covered up with perfectly fitting filter discs (cut them) and held on by silicone....It is perfectly seeled and the hole for the cool mist humidifer is also seeled off with silicone...Do I need to fan or are the filter disc providing me with enough air exchange?

Your holes really need to be on the bottom of the chamber.

Co2 drains from the bottom.

As for fanning, you probably will want to fan a little anyways, just to make sure you have good air exchange.
