4:30 a.m. this morning...

I was walking out of the 7-11 (just stopped for my morning coffee on the way to work) and I see this guy stumbling across the parking lot toward me. My first thought is 'homeless guy asking for change'. But he walks up and asks for a cigarette. Unfortunately I had none and told him so (I'm still thinking 'homeless bum' at this point). Then the guy blurts out "Oh shit man! I took a bunch of mushrooms last night and I really need a cigarette right now! I'm still trippin!". I notice that his pupils are dialated and I start to laugh and say "Hey bro, whats your brand?". "Marlboro Lights" he replies. "Wait right here" I tell him. I went inside, bought a pack of cigs and grabbed a book of matches, and bring them out to him. He looks at me like I am the Dali Llama and thanks me profusely. I just grin and say "Always happy to help out a fellow tripper!"
Maybe he'll tell trip stories of me to his friends. Either way, I enjoyed the experience.

Cool! Gotta be a rewarding experience. That was soul love right there imho, 'specially for the guy on the epic trip! In fact, equally for the pair of you. I really dig that little story

I wish somebody did that when I ate x last month. The pack I bought put my bank acct in th red because I had $0.89 too little in my acct to cover my electric beill that I sent the check out for. That pack ended up costing like $30.

This probably just depends on what state/city you live in. While a pack might be $8-10 in NY or Chicago now, I bet there're still places where a pack is like $3-4.
Edit: Great story, btw, it's nice to know that other shroomers also feel an affinity towards each other

They're even cheaper here in Tn. I think a pack of premiums (Marlboro, etc) can be found for about $2.80 a pack.

That is an awesome fucking story, And on a side not I will be tripping bawls and heading down to my local convenience store tonight!

Cigarettes are about 3.40 here - Depending on what kind you buy - And there is always a buy one get one free so a majority of the time you can get 2 packs for like 3.40-60
I do live in Virginia though (Maybe tobacco abundance comes into play?) and our economy isn't as big as say New York. People don't understand why smokes are 8 there and 3 here. It's because there as 1,000,000 more people and your minimum wage is way higher then ours. That and they need all the taxed they can get to take care of roads and all that shit. Get it?

True. Plus, a lot of the price is merely taxes. Tenn. and VA. don't tax the fuck out of cigs like other states do.

To answer some of the questions, it is $4 and some change for a pack here but I never really pay close attention to price even when buying for myself. Its kinda the same approach I take to buying gas...I know I'm gonna do it anyway so why worry what it costs.
And yes, I gave him the entire pack. I smoke Camel lights and think Marlboro lights taste light shit.
And yes, I guess he would technically be considered a bum for asking for handouts. But thats the kind of bum I can relate with!
And sometimes good deeds do go unrewarded. But I didn't do it for any reward. It seemed like the right thing to do at the moment and I'm not too poor to help out when it seems right. People have done nice things for me in the past anyway so it surely doesn't hurt to do a favor when I'm in the position to hand one out.
