Well, I dunked and rolled the cakes about 4 days ago and haven't yet seen any pins. I'm not too worried but there is some fuzz that has grown and I'm unsure on whether it's normal or whether it could be something worse (cobweb mold)
Here's some pics.

Well, if you look at the top picture, the top of the cake on the right side...those smooth looking bumps, are actually really stringy puffs.
It's perfectly white which I'm under the impression that cobweb mold is more grey. I figured it couldn't hurt to get some other opinions though. I'm not too rushed on the pinning but can't hurt.

Okay thanks. I really just wanted to make sure. I'll now start channeling my inner patience and leave em alone.

Well, I tried casings my first time and they didn't do so hot. I'm sure my cakes won't be much better but I figured I'd give it a shot and see how they work. I'm enjoying mycology a fair bit so want to try all the methods I can find. Learning is goooood.
As for posting the picture, I host my pictures on tinypic.com. Then I just use the image button when making a post and throw in the link. Board does the rest by itself.

I inoculated a 1/2 pint glass with GT's 5 days ago now and is showing a spot of mycelium. On average, how long should this take to completely colonise? My incubator is a steady 25*C

This strain is Golden Teachers and colonized really quickly. My jars were done in about roughly 2.5 weeks. About a week shorter than my first batch of B+

lol, it's tinypic.com. It's a picture hosting site.
I don't do anything special as far as I know. For some reason, these GT's took off way faster than my B+'s. I was quite pleased with the colonization time.
