Morchella sclerotia questions

Anyone ever heard of anyone or have themselves, eaten a sclerotia of morchella? I'm interested in trying to cultivate these after reading a patent application a few years back...it said that the sclerotia are good eatin! they were talking about outdoor/natural cultivated sclerotia, so I don't know if it'll be the same as the filter patch bag cult methods I'm thinking of (I saw a tek on the Nook from Brainbreath for producing sclerotia in peat covered by grain spawn).
