sleep is an interesting thing. i'm pretty sure our prana/food intake have a huge effect on how things roll at night. it seems as if we get a good store going, and have a nice balanced energy source "sleep" can be a pretty rewarding meditation. also, sleep seems to be necessary to have a productive day. as far as dream-states go, it seems like they're not useful unless they're lucid. i'm wondering how this will be as once upon a time i had a huge ego.. and would've wanted to control the dream myself. i'm looking forward to throwing right intention in there and seeing what happens. have a good day. tennessee is glowing today!

I read this short science-ficiton story once, about the first children to have their DNA artificially enhanced so as to make it unnecessary for them to sleep. As a side-effect, they grew up learning 24/7 as children, and were supposedly happier, smarter, more energetic, and more forward thinking in everything they do. They were also consequently more realistic, living their lives without the idea of dreams.

sleep can be a time to strive for enlightenment.
try to do it consciously.

If humans did not have to sleep, I've often wondered if humanity would be twice as productive in everything they do?
Physiologically, I love a nice nap. It flushes the brain nicely, of what, I'm not sure, and in the morning I feel absolutely great. There's also some Yin-Yang to it. Being awake all the time doesn't have a balance. A enlightened man appreciates the unconsciousness of sleep so that consciousness becomes ever so glorified.

Striving for enlightenment is agitating. Whats the point?
Sleep is necessary for mental organization. You consciously and subconsciously receive information at all times. Theres only so much information that can be stored before a reboot is necessary.

the front pocket can't be reached into because it creates a tight wedge against your leg.
that is why I store my wallet there. also because out of habit.

I have always wondered, how would my life be if I have decided that I no longer needed sleep in my life?

Of course, I imagine my body would be so weak and my life would be slow and pointless. Heh... Sleep truly is an interesting thing.

If you can still your mind and remain centered and peaceful in waking life, then you wouldn't dream, and if you did it would be just like meditating. Sleep is an integral part of life, without it you'd be dead, not enlightened. Everything in life has a rhythm, our mind is no different.
If dreaming becomes an issue, I would recommend trying to figure out where the trouble is coming from (if you have any deep seated issues), and once that's done, try Dream Yoga.

Yeah, but then that tends to be uncomfortable, and it looks sort of strange.
That is why you keep your wallet on a thick fucking chain, and if anyone tries to grab it, you smack them in the fucking eyes with the chain, and then proceed to choke the fuck out of them.

Fresh, I'm a working man, and I still find myself eating ramen noodles and frozen pizza. We squander our money...
 Peace.

I used that raman lifestyle to become a homeowner (fully paid) with savings. I also have almost never worked a 40 hour week.
