The answer to your question would be dependant on what two species you are refering to. While Copelandia is not in the Psilocybe genus, they can be found in close proximity to cubensis. Other wood lovers can be found in close proximity to each other as well.
As for your suspect caerulipes, they tend to be found in riparian environments. I would suggest that you collect more information about the unknown mushrooms and perhaps someone will offer you an ID.

I don't think its Copelandia unless it matches the aforementioned description, I've read so far that Caerulipes can be a range of different colored caps and have brown gills and may not bruise blue, even at the bottom, for an extended period of time, I guess what I did not say was that when I was finding these the temps I believe were "riparian" (i'm looking up the def now) around 60 degrees.

Riparian environment= near or in woods and shit, the forest, fallen decaying trees and what not, well that's the thing the place backs up to an old forest with fallen wood and lots of tree debris mixed with the woodchips from the barn

Hey before .....Riparian is usually along streams and rivers which is where you want to look for Caerulipes and anywhere in general area of riparian areas where there might be alot of organic debris like compost and especially WOODY debris present and a marshy area is also a good place to look.......tho it can be found in fall.....'natural' fruitings of Caerulipes can appear after the first warm rains of spring and summer.....now is the time to look as we seem to be having an exceptional explosion this year in the east
Make sure anything you find bruises DISTINCLY NO QUESTION ABOUT IT BLUE within 4 to 5 hours and has the correct colored spores
some mushrooms that bruise bruise can be poisonous !
see if you can get a pic any and might be able to get you close..

okay, I think I have a local environment with streams (small rivers) that I can walk to, and it's definitely a wooded area, but the temps need to be in the 60s right? or will a little sun light (about 80 plus degrees) still be a friendly environment... oh and its moist as shit down in the dirty dirty if you didn't know, when the summer hits the humidity jumps up through the roof
