Common effects on salvia?
    #5661778 - 05/22/06 08:47 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Hey i came up with this the other day. This is what ive put together after about 30 or so trips on salvia.

Pin-like feeling.
Geometric and kaleidoscope hallucinations.
Trail of numbers and/or shapes.
Multi colored patterns.
Uncomfortable feeling at times (fairly common).
Unusual sound or voice from unknown source.

Anyone agree or disagree with my conclusions?

Throw in "completely unpredictable" and you've got a solid list there.

I'm guessing you are talking about the extract, as most of you probably usually are. I've only done the leaves and had mild effects using a hookah. Its not very hard to get the extract just have to buy it online but is it even worth getting? It sounds somewhat good but it kinda sounds like a negative thing...

Salvia stream of consciousness this morning:

Living room painted in sunlight and angles and prickles and more angles
and such-so angles
- touched without touching, like these spaces under my jaws and
surfaces lifting
- or those other corners of room or body openning
- all of which as surfaces can rise and bend or be raised or lifted or
spaced like this
- pulling up stretchy - gum shoe messy
- like a silly putty aspect to all these natural signals and every
surface (glance - or surfed sensation) can be so pulled
- stretch-like from the ordinary flatness

Add gravitational hallucinations to that list. And the feeling that reality is moving on a conveyor belt.... :-D

I love Salvia, I have done it probably over a hundred times, however I just wish it didn't fuck with your head long-term so badly, anyways, what I've experienced:
-Gravity shifting (very powerful)
-Visual distortions
-Visual hallucinations (3D geometrical structures moving in unnatural ways, coming into the same space that I occupy, moving through me, watching plants grow and wiggle and smile, seeing, talking, and completely interacting with a friend who wasn't there...)
-Closed eye visuals (super fractal patterns of multicolor moving like some science animation might, blobs and shards of light on the backs of eyelids)
-Audio hallucinations (sounds seem distant, distorted, different, hearing my own thoughts, hearing my own thoughts echo inside a cave at the beach we smoked it at... :uptosomething:)
-Powerful shifts in emotion (sometimes Salvia has given me a very blissful feeling, sometimes the absolute opposite)
-Powerful empathetic reactions towards living things, esp. plants (often I felt the need to be as close as possible to a living plant whether it be a bed of ivy that I'd never otherwise think of laying down in and rolling around like a dog..and totally loving it, or whether it be my friend's palm like tree in his appartment two years ago, or sometimes I just felt like i were a plant and that I were too high off the ground, so I'd get as low as possible..the dirt felt really good on my skin.)
-Body sensations...the usual and definitive body high of a light dose of Salvia leaf smoked, a very cooling sensation, like all of a sudden I was covered with cool, fresh water, very pleasant.
-Out of body experiences are common (the image is still so clear in my mind from about three years ago: a rain-type forest, subtropical but not really warm, more cool, deep turquoises, dark greens, two entities lead me down a long descent, I floated with them, drifted down, down toward an open door at the base of a huge, intricate structure that appeared to be made out of stone of some sort..it had carvings of immense detail all over the outside, it was very surreal, but very peaceful.  Right before we went through this door full of bright light, I came to.
I've had another OBE on Salvia where I came across a door in a luscious aspen forest, I'll spare the long details, but even though I could see through this open door to what seemed to be no different than where I was really, I came to right before I was able to go through.
Could that signify the doors of perception?  Maybe I shouldn't go through them?  Maybe that would be a form of enlightenment?
Anyways, that's my nasty list of Salvia traits of my experiences.  Overall, I think the most peaceful bliss I have ever experienced has been with the aide of Salvia; it can be incredibly euphoric, however, everyone is different.

if you look up and then down you will see both directions at once.

persisting sensations are the main thing and all senses - even memory and imagination are included, everything that arises in mind persists longer than normal.

salvia gravity is persisting sensation of pressure or weight.
heat and cool can be transfered from one sense to another.

pinpricks are persisting hairfollicles or contact with clothing or skin.

I summarize the whole thing as elongated fading out of signals, this makes entire scenarios stack up in the mind - dimensions seem to appear as several moments coexist, where normally scenes would have faded.

new scenes are created out of the overlapping of sequences of experience and memory.

the intensity of this layering often gives me a dali-esque silly putty sticking and stretching mix. I can sense the wakes of several personality constructs crossing in myself; I try to let go and surf the moments.

yup, gravity thing is weird..

very strong "pulling"

being flattened out, and merging with objects.. like sitting on a couch you feel you are being smushed into it, or if you lean on a wall, you feel merged with the wall and often can't move.

intense laughing... theres so much to go with it, its hard to make a list. or put any into words to be honest.

I even had a closed eye visual of a conveyor belt with little children on it, a teacher or sometype of older person was pushing them off the line. A very strange plant indeed. I have only had one very intense experience and it was most unexpected.

You can buy whatever strength you like, its all in the dosage that you take. I have tried 10 and 20x, my dosages have never been weighed, I just work my way up from a minute amount.

i started on 5x, and that was enough to get used to it.

then i jumped right to 20x.

the "trick" is to respect it 100% and treat the entire event as a privilege. If you do that, you are much better off.
