Some questions about pf cake
    #5661677 - 05/22/06 08:28 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Hi,
I know I'm a novice, I like this. First experience is always great! :P So, here some novice questions.

1. Some of my pf cake is colonizing faster than other. How can I do to birth them all together ?

2. When you case cake in verm, is it only before the first flush, or you case between each flush ?

3. Following the casing with verm, do you keep your cake in colonizing condition (no light, low air exange, 27c temp) until verm is colonized by mycelium or you put them directly under light in pin formation mode ?

4. Which music type do you like to listen to while tripping ? :P Personally, I'm a fan of Psy-Goa Trance  :smirk:

1. Once some are fully colonized they can sit for a week maybe a little more, it won't hurt at all just make the mycelium grow stronger and thicker.

2. Once you case a cake its cased and no longer a cake.

3. After you case the cake, let it incubate in darkness with low air exchange till little bits of myc start popping through the casing layer. It'll take a day or two then apply a little bit of casing mix to the mycelium that came through (this is called patching and its done to get a more even pinset) then drop the temperature and give it light, air and humidity.
