Cracked Corn; The Experts Speak

Did a search for "cracked corn," came up with one thread. Which is why I'm making this one. And my question is simple...
I'm currently using WBS for my grow. Does cracked corn offer some benefit that I don't know about?

The only info I know of is in the Cracked Corn Preparation Tek. Cracked corn seems to colonize really fast. That's it unless somebody knows something I don't.

Wow, that's excellent. Maybe I'll pick up a bag and do a few extra jars this next run.
Is there any feedback on potency? I'll be spawning to straw/hpoo.

Go with any spawn material but corn. In my experience, it's the worst possible choice. BRF, WBS, rye, millet and rye grass seed are all much superior. Corn should be a last resort when you can't find proper spawn. RR

Hmmmmm. Ok, maybe I won't.
Actually, I'll knock up a few jars with the colonized LC, see what happens.
Thanks for all the input!

Corn, cracked corn included sucks as a spawn so far as I have experienced, I have tried Rye, Millet, WBS, and Cracked Corn and corn comes in flat out last place as far as how good it is.
I prefer WBS, then Rye, then straght millet, and if I can't find anything better Corn.
By the way my preference for WBS over Rye is due to Rye's heavy smell during the soak. Silly but I cannot stand that smell.

I started my bulk grows with cracked corn and it is a poor choice in my expierence. All the starch causes nothing but problems with contains and everything gets sticky. The faster colonization is true but I get much faster spawn runs with wbs because cracked corn doesnt seem to produce much rihzo growth so it equals out. It works but save yourself the headache

Im going to be using CC as a sub. And in another jar will be WBS. Two subs that I havent tried yet to grow. I let ya'll know the process and see for myself how CC performs.

if it works for you, go with it
it seems that those who use popcorn or cracked corn and like it, really like it. maybe they're doing something i missed. i tried it, found it to be very inconsistent with every jar performing differently. then again i'm a wierdo who prepares pf cakes quite often with the intent to crumble as spawn, because i like the flexibility of being able to occasionally fruit them as cakes, cakes are fun to watch and get to end results a tad quicker, and i can isolate a few away and let them get nice and mature for printing without messing up my regular grow area with spores... and when i do want to make larger quantities of spawn i stick with the basic tried & true wbs, because its easy to come by, extremely inexpensive, and gives me consistent results i can count on every time even if i switch up brands... but those are things that work for me. every situation is a little different.
spawn is spawn IMO, if it colonizes and remains agressive when introduced to bulk sub, your bulk sub is more important than anything up to that point when it comes to your actual cropping.

CC fruits terrible! As far as spawn I've never bothered to waste my time.

It couldn't have been stated better. Popcorn sucks almost as bad as cracked corn. At least popcorn is good for the movies. CC is good for nothing but feeding chickens or fattening up a steer. RR
