You want to patch. You let it go way to long.
Patch ASAP and put it in the fruiting chamber.

Once in the FC light is necessary not just until it pins. What is meant by no myc should be seen is that you patch before placing in the FC so no myc is showing. Now your question, your PMP provides FAE's but does nothing to disturb the stagnated pockets of the casings microclimate itself this just helps maximize pin count by fanning during the pinning stage. Once myc has colonized the casing evenly by the end of the transitional period between veg and fruiting modes and you've kept the casings moisture content optimal (near saturation) then no more misting will be necessary as long as RH is also optimum (95-98%) until pins are set.

He's saying to get it good and wet. You also want to let it dry out a bit between mistings because evaporation from the casing layer is also one of the pinning triggers. That's why we don't use 100% humidity with cased substrate. If there were no evaporation, you'd have a crappy pinset. It's a balancing act. RR

near saturation:
think glistening. As soon as you see a little glistening, stop misting. That's how I think of it in my head. glisten=stop. you don't want any water pooling.

Exactly, also werdnaeroom8 theres a period when the surface is colonized with myc at the end of it's transition between veg and fruiting where you want to stop misting and let those primordia form if RH is balanced correctly (95-98%) no misting will be needed during this period but if it drys then very light frequent indirect misting will be necessary for max pin count.
