Hey, another brisk walk through the greenway, this time with a friend, and she spotted these out for me. Unsure of what they are, but pretty sure not good because of the white spores. I will try to take a spore print and post it tomorrow. Also, I didn't uproot these, most had already been plucked and some opened when we found them.

I'm not sure what that is. I don't think it is a russula because of how cleanly the stem is split in that one picture. Russulas are more likely to just crumble apart. Also the gill attachment looks to be almost decurrent in some of those.

Lyophyllum descastes is a good possibility, it may also be some sort of Clitocybe. This web page at Mushoomexpert.com has a good description of Lyophyllum descastes. It aslo tells you how to tell Lyophyllum descastes from Clitocybe dilatata, a poisonous Clitocybe.

Thanks for the help. My guess would be Lyophyllum descastes, but I'm not positive. I tried taking a spore print yesterday. After opening it up all I had was condensation, no spores.
On another note, I went back down to the greenway today and rode alone. About 2 miles in I found another small patch of mushrooms that almost all had been uprooted as well. This is really starting to piss me off. Why would people go through and uproot almost all the mushrooms in a patch if the first one wasn't what they were looking for????!?!?!

That really does suck! That's disrespectful mostly to the nature, but also to others who are also curious.
All you need is to examine ONE to figure out if it's what you want or not... not uproot the whole lot! What pricks

I've had that problem with condensation sometimes, usually with larger mushrooms. I can usually get a print if I put them in a small paper bag instead of covering them with something that doesn't breath.
The overturned mushrooms can get annoying, I find a lot of russulas that have been uprooted.
