if you're going to shell out big bucks to add another pitcher to our weak rotation, please don't cave to the Roger Clemens hype. Fucking pick up Dontrelle Willis. That man belongs in pinstripes.
Sincerely,

Dontrelle or Clemens are probably the only two pitchers they could get. They really have nobody feasible to trade.

I just don't want Clemens at all. I don't care how good he is; he's pissing me off. I've wanted Willis on the Yankees for a while and now's as good a time as ever. I just wonder who'd they send over to the Marlins in exchange.

Thats why I say they could get Dontrelle, 'cause you really dont NEED to trade the marlins anything. Look at what they've traded all their other talent away for. They're just interested in ditching salary because of their stadium situation, and if there's one thing the Yankees have an abundance of, its cash.
I bet you could swap them a pitcher they could plug in, someone not very good, pay his salary and pick up Willis' money too and they'd make that deal.

What makes you think a pitcher with a 1-5 record and an era above 5 will solve the yankees pitching woes? Dontrelle averages 1 ER per 2 innings pitched. Don't get me wrong he's an exceptional pitcher but I think he's having an off season.
Up here in toronto pitching hasn't been nearly as solid as many would have hoped...Burnett is a flop, Chacin is on the 15 day DL but I don't see him coming back anytime soon, and Towers is off too an absolutely brutal start. And yet I'm still convinced we have the bats to take the AL East. Then again we were just swept by the rockies who are off to a unusually good start.

I think the situation the Marlins are having is a big reason why he is having an off season so far. Change the atmosphere he's playing in, the players he's playing with, and his pitching situation will definitely change. He's got barely anyone with sufficient talent playing defense behind him, and he's got no run support to back him up. When you know you've got no run support, what do you think that's gonna do in the back of your mind, to your confidence?
I think if Dontrelle made the move to the Yankees, you'd see a whole different pitcher. And a pitcher who would have a big advantage because even though everyone knows about him and his stuff, he's never faced a ton of the AL hitters he'd be facing with the Yankees.

*not that the Yankees defense has been much to scream about over the last 22 games.

who are the yankees going to trade to get willis.. they dont have anyone good enough in there farm system to get him. the mets are going to snag willis and cabrera. if the marlins wouldnt trade them for pelfry and mileage earyier in the season theres no way that the yankees will come close to getting willis.

He's an injury waiting to happen. He's 24 now. I will be very surprised if he pitches one major league inning after 28. And the ones until then will be so-so. Cabrera, on the other hand, is a stone cold stud.
