is it nessacarry to soak popcorn for 24 hours, or is it possible to just simmer it and pc?

I always soak my popcorn.
with popcorn I do a quick simmer after soaking too.

I dont soak mine at all, if its popcorn. I just simmer for 2 hours then pc.

Endospores aren't usually a problem with rye, but corn is infested with them. Corn is a pretty shitty spawn material in my opinion, but if you're determined to use it, I'd suggest a 24 to 48 hour soak, then a five minute boil before loading jars.
