First Batch, Is this Contam. :(

Well it has been about 14 days since i have inoculated my 5 PF style jars, and it has been good news since today.  I have noticed that all of the jars are fully colonized or almost fully colonized, but today when i looked at them one seemed to be alittle darker in spots but had no smell too it, so i opened it up an VWALLAH, a nice chunck of black mold or what looked like mold laid dorment on the top of the vermac.  so imediately i chuncked the damn thing and went on my way.  Just in case i decided to check the other 4 jars happy to see no contam at all in them, eccept i think not.  There is a white fluffy looking substans all on the top of the substrate ive seen the picks of the other molds and it doesnt look at all like cobweb mold. just wondering if this is what the mycelum looks like when it has colonized the top of the jar. Also it is a pure white like the mycelum.  :smile:  thanks

That black mold is nasty right. I think from your description it is mycleum. You will notice a signifigant difference from cob web to mycleum. It'll be a different color for one and it just looks different. Compare it to the mycleum if there is a signifigant difference its probably cob web if not shoot for the stars.

The black mold it kinda like Bread Mold gone very very very bad. Also it does look alot like the mycilum just it is more fuzzy looking but same color.
