honey preservation

I've been told to preserve my mushrooms in honey, but ive also heard that if they're not completely dry, alot of the goodies will seep into the honey. and they can also go mouldy in honey if not completely dry. can i dry them on top of the hot water cupboard on newspaper or something? should i even bother with the honey if i'm going to take them in the next week or so? whats's the differance between just drying your mushrooms out normally (hotwater cupboard) and shoving the semi-dried ones in honey? I don't to use a complicated method that involves chemicals!

if its pure honey, its better, less water less chance of stuff going bad. if you are gonna eat it before 2 weeks, it shouldnt seep into the honey or go bad.... so if we just preserved you....

no need to preserve on that kind of a time frame. one should, however, dry 'em; fan or (barely) warm surface, then desiccant, if you have it.
i wouldn't put anything even remotely wet into honey.
stay in school, don't do drugs.

If you're going to eat them within a few weeks like you said, they're fine - don't bother digging them out, just keep the honey in the fridge and nothing should go bad. Just make sure you eat those ones first if you plan on storing it for longer

along these lines, ive dryed some out for afew days, most felt crisp, however there was a few that were not as crisp, they werent wet or anything, just not as crisp, theres about 70 of them, i put them in a grinder and which came out to around 3 large table spoons of powder and then stired that into organic honey? dunno if thats the same as pure or raw honey, i just got it at the supermarket so i dunno if im gonna get problems.
my question is, theres like 3 large tblespns of powerder, mixed into the honey bottle which is 500grams net how much honey do i eat at a time. i dont like to have very intense trips also.
and how long will this honey keep? i cant put it in the fridge at my house so its just at room temp. thanx for the help

Did you take the mass of the mushrooms before adding them to the honey? If not, then there isn't going to be any surefire way of judging how much you're eating - I would reccomend trying a small spoonfull to roughly guage the potency of your mixture; just make sure it's mixed well. Otherwise, the honey itself is very unlikely to go bad in the near future (I keep my honey in the cupboard), just stir it up every week or so. If the mushrooms powdered, chances are they were quite dry and are also unlikely to go bad - just treat the jar like you would regular honey at this point.

how do u treat regular honey? ive always just left it there, i try to stir this bottle up ever 2 days or so, i didnt take the mass before mixing it in sorry. im from australia, we have ps.subaeruginosa which are apparently the most potent mushshrooms, from what ive heard. most people usually eat about 7 to 10 smaller ones, which are about 3 or 4cm tall. im guessing there would be about 10 doses judging by the size and potency of this batch. just abit scared about diving in coz theres so much honey it looks more like 50 doses in there.
i was hoping that because they were ground up they wouldnt rot so easily thanx for confirming that. because the goodness is seeping into the honey the honey is getting much darker. at first i thought maybe rot, now im guessing its just the blue seeping into the honey.
how can i tell if it does start to rot? will i see it easily? or smell it? what well the rot look like? and is it possible to keep this contained for over, say, 10 years?

well you could pasterize the honey, but really only be worried about that kinda storage if you dont eat it for like a couple months, less than a month, its fine, so yeah youd defintely know if it was rotting, it would go blackish and smell very shitty, like you know, rotting shit. its very unlikely, but i put fresh ones in honey for 3 week,s nothing bad happened, and they seemeed to absorb some honey and tasted great! very mystic tasting, have fun with that great idea of yours, the honey and the powdered high dose of mushies, man like one serving of hoeny of that magical jar on toast, and an hour later, boom! your trippin, rad.

after i dipped in the other night, i would probably say the honey would probably last for around 20 trips give or take 5, this is with about 70 grownd ps.subaeruginosa in 500gms of honey.
