my god! my fucking god! my sweet fucking naked god! this show was....god damn...no words.
heres el set listo
Set 1: Per Phil For Ramrod Passenger >ViolaLee(ZonerAnthem)>Jam >CumberlandBlues >Fennario >WatchTower >WahWahJam>NewSpeedway ~SortaKindaMaybeFauxSetOverStop~ >UBC(PhilCrooningAndSoundingGood)
set 2: UJB > Jam > eyes > st. stephen > the eleven > caution help on the way > slipknot > franklins
set 3 (encore set) TOO > dark star (v2) > TOO Jam > TOO > box of rain
ok to start of i got to the warfield around 7. hung out on market street for a bit, picked up a mushroom chocolate then headed inside. this was my first show at the warfeild, i was surprised by how small it was. i sat down on the floor and ate my chocolate and chated with the other folks. i could tell i was infor it. i was about 10 feet from the stage and i could see phils bass gleaming on its stand, and ight behind it...big brown phil comes out and dedicated this show and "every other show i play for the rest of my life" to ram rod then they exploded into passenger violalee was fuckin fantstic never seen one like it, so much new stuff has been aded to the mix and thats truly why i love going out to see phil, this jazzy ass violalee was probly one of my favoite tunes in the first set. the set closed with imho a flawledd unbroken chain. phl hit every note, never lost himself and sang with such passion. i felt like if i wasent so in shock by the gravity of what i was seeing i would have burst into tears. truly amazing, look for that one on the dvd so ended the first set and i decided to retrete from the cramped space of the front floor and move back a bit. here is where the shit unfortunatly hits the fan. my chocolate was hittin me pretty good now and i was having a grand old time just keeping to myself and looking around seeing the sights and what not. i was on the left side of the stage staring over to the right when all of a sudden i see a limp body fly across my feild of vision and smash into a crowd. i diddnt even blink, i diddnt even move all i could think was "oh sweet god not again" this is the second jumper i have vividly wittnesed in my last 2 phil shows. at this point the whole crowd is going ape shit, some are rushing up to where he fell to see, others are running away in horror. i just stood there staring. god damn. acid is not a toy people well maybe it is, but it sure is hell aint a fying machine. the guy ended up being ok, i talked to some freinds on the balcony who saw him in the act, he did a full swan dive over the end of the balcony and summersalted into the crowd. broke his leg and landed on one lady, she was shaken but ok. needless to say this put a huge dark cloud over the whole show, the crowd, the band, the dvd, everything. phil and the band could be seen staring in horror at the carnage on the floor. after an extremly long set break things finnaly got back in order and phil came back on now the boys (and girl) realy had somthing to prove. ujb was a perfect healing tune to start things up, and talk about energy, nah scratch that. POWER! i have never seen more power in one room in my whole life. by far the ultimate highllight for me was the feedback>caution. as the 11 faded out molo and scofield kept climbing to a climactic gallop as phil toook of his bass strap and picked up BIG BROWN! phil was in rock star mode tonight! he picked up big brown by the neck and with his back against the crowd have the strings one strong slap then held the bass right agaist his stack. is an under statment. the ENTIRE warfield was vibrating sooooooooooooooo heavily ithought we where all gonna burst apart into splitered fractals of sound. being a bass player and a lover of feedback in general this was a personaly amazing moment. im still feeling it now as a matter of fact then after phil let the rumbble die... BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM BUM CAUTION! blisteringly tight. i have heard alot of people raving about how scofield and cambell are an awazing lead duo. i gotta say this is no lie. the whole show they where trading licks at blistering speed, catching everything the other one did. then what better to cap of an amazing set then a stelar help slip fanklin. i would have been happy with just one encore. but of course this was not to be what with the special nature of this show. so i headed back to the floor to get as close to the action as i could. all i have to say is phil knows how to end a night. the other one fed into dark stars second verse so perfectly. then back into the other one, then in propper phil form he ends it with a killer box of rain with larry on peddle steel. this show was incredable, i cant wait to get the dvd so i can relive it over and over.
well worth the extra mony i paid plus i got to meet lots of cool folks thanks phil for a real good time

Sounds awesome! All except the jumper part. People are prone to fucking up a good thing. Glad the dude was alright, though. Unlike New Years.
I didn't know that Scofield was playing with Phil, now! Who was contributing vocals?

on the subject of the jumper its just sad. i litteral just let it go the second i saw it. all i could to was just sigh and kinda think what a waste. i thought the guy was fucked up for sure. i saw his fully extended body go spinnin the crowd from well above he balcony. he aperently ran down the stars climbed a railing and juped from the uper balcony over the bottom bollconys seats and fu landed on his shoulder ontop of sme woman. teres has been alot of talk of this matter on phil zone, as well as phantasytour.com wich is a site the jumper frequently posts on. most of it goes like this: "i wanna hurt/kill/rape that guy" "he should be in the pokey" i dunno about that. i just think the guy went overboard. no pun intended we all do dumb shit the dead community being the loving commuinty shuld acept this guys apology and offer him some freindly words. he has since made it well knowsn he knows he fucked up and that what he did was completly out of his control, he was spun, of course and thats his fault. but hey who are we as fellow drug user to cast stones. some people need somthing like this to happen for them to really change how they see thier lives

I've only been to two shows in the last year.... damien marley a few weeks back and I saw Willie Nelson perform in a tiny bar out here.
I love it here, it's paradise to be sure... but man... we're furhtur off the tour than my previoius life in Iowa... fuck. Maui is where the musicians go when the tour is over with, they don't gig it up here :-(

ok, i just read most of it... jumpers suck.. .i could see why some would not want to be alive if the music stops touring, but the music lives on... the music lives on...

Man, I hope Scofield's going to be at the Bonnaroo show. Joan too. I love her addition to the vocals. She's way better sounding than Donna, imo. Donna just got on my nerves with her off tune wailing. They should have turned down her mic. That's all.

i liked donna, she had her moments where she went a bit overboard, but a good little addition...
joan kinda pissed me off, i mean, it just seemed too much like playing a part...

scofield is playing bonnaroo w/ them - but i think that is his last date on phil tour (i don't really know for certain, but this is what i've heard).
as for donna, this girl i know was telling me a story from the Dead tour in 2003 (or maybe 2004, i don't remember). she bought a little button with a picture of Donna, and the guy selling them said, "i've had three buttons with donna on them for the last 10+ years, and you are the first person to ever buy one"

hmm, well people are claiming on phantasytour that scofield will play a lot of dates with him this summer. looking on his site, it seems that he'll be playing with them until asheville. then he's going on european tour w/ Trio Beyond w.Jack DeJohnette, Larry Goldings. so i'm still not sure who will be playing w/ phil from july onwards..

It looks great as far as who he has with him! I love Scofield and I get to see Joan again. She does Jerry songs really well. I can't wait to see them at Bonnaroo!
Phil Lesh (bass, vocals) Joan Osborne (vocals) John Scofield (guitar) Larry Campbell (guitar, mandolin, violin, fiddle) Rob Baracco (Keys, vocals) Greg Osby (Sax) John Molo (drums)

osby was great it though. hes really good at sitting back and listening for where his presence is apropriate. one of my favorite moments from the show was watching greg and joan dancing together on stage to franklins tower. everyone on stage looked like they where having the time of there lives. i wish there where more picks from the show. i would kill for a pick of phil holding big brown against his amp the way he did
