Tenn Stud ?

I am planning on getting some pre-pasteurized substrate from Tenn. Stud ( http://www.tennstud.com/catalog/item/1676047/1113775.htm ) . My first question is how much will I need (weight-wise). They have 5,10,20 lb bags. I am going to need to fill 6 turkey trays (not sure of the exact dimensions yet but it should be pretty standard). The second part of my question is about colonizing the substrate. Would I just colonize the whole bulk bag at once (with many cakes), or would I split it up into 6 separate bags and put a cake or two in each one. If just in the big bag, would I simply cut the top and seal back up after? I am under the impression that it needs to colonize in the bags for about a week before placing into the trays. From there it should take a few more days in the trays before going into the terrarium. Sound about right? I'm just trying to sort out a few uncertainties as the time is coming near!
Thanks!

Well turky trays from what I understand are HUGE. So you will need like 30 lbs - 40 lbs of pre pasturised. Jikes that seems expencive lol. I would get the dry stuff and pasturise it your self. 20 lbs dry will last you for a long long time.

I was only going to go with the pre-pasteurized because it's cheaper. Can anyone offer some help on this part of my post? "The second part of my question is about colonizing the substrate. a good spawn ratio is 5 to 1.
so 5 parts horse poo to 1 part colonized substrate.
so your gonna need to use more cakes than you were talking about using in each pan.
check this out...

read through that...and it will tell you how to spawn your colonized substrate(cakes) into the horse poo...into your turky pans.
I suggest using plastic or something other than Alum pans... mycelium will eat right through Alum. I used to use Alum pans...and don't anymore.

Its not cheaper actually. If you get the 5lbs of unpasteurized it expands to 15lbs after you add water.
