Ode to police

This may not be a very popular idea, and you don't hear it to often these days, but I respect the hell out of the police.
Do you realize that an honest cop makes shit pay? You know why he does his job? Because it needs to be done. That right there is fuckin balls, man.
A good policeman is a person who will stand up for the battered wife, return the ten year old's stolen bike, and dish out Justice to murderers with 9mm serving ladles.
A bad cop is one who lets petty things distract him from his real job. The police's job is to keep people from getting raped, robbed, and killed. To serve and protect. Its not their job to keep people from using drugs. That is a distraction from much more important things.
Crooked cops almost always get what they deserve. I wouldn't reccomend that path to anyone.
But to all you real, bonafide police who are reading this, all you good guys, warriors of the light, I salute you. I'm so grateful to you for keeping me safe, and giving others the consequences they deserve for their wrongful actions.
You guys have real balls and I hope you use them wisely. C'mon everybody, lets hear it for the GOOD COPS, the nice guys that let you go when they know you're in the right, despite what the law says. Lets hear it for the bravery and self-sacrifice of these proud warriors. Lets hear it for our protectors and servants. They deserve a hand.

On the plus side, cops get to retire quite early.
My best friend's dad was a narcotics cop. Great guy, really... extremely nice, laid back person.
He's been retired for a long time now, and his oldest son is only 21.

It helps to be a well-groomed white person. That's definitely helped me with the cops. If I was a mexican I'd have been convicted so many times by now it's not even funny.

well said.. its definetely a job that needs to be done. but police focus too much on things that really dont affect anyone but ourselves.

Thanks DoctorJ I totally agree. Cops these days aren't just cops, they have to be psychiatrists, diplomats, babysitters, social workers... they're running the risk of getting killed, but must strictly follow procedure. I can't imagine getting up every day and having to deal with all the freaks that they do. People like to bitch about cops because they got a possession ticket or some shit. Whatever, get the laws changed or be more careful. They also catch real criminals so I don't have to sleep with a loaded gun and iron bars on my windows.

yea, ever notice how all the cops patrol aroundthe good neighborhoods and never dare drive to the gang areas? There are many neighborhoods here in So Cal where people do live with bars on their windows and though its obvious that that the neighborhood is in dire need of some cops, there are none to be seen. instead they are all patrollin Beverly Hills or Anaheim Hills....

If you ask me, street gangs often imitate the police, and I believe they tend to originate from a lack of police.
