antivirus

which do you us and why that one? I use McAfee myself, because my university passes it out for free, with unlimited updates, had it for like 3 years now, lol.

I am getting tired of the resources that it takes up, and was seeing what you all recommend? It works good for me, even catches viruses immediately when i go places i shouldnt, or d/l anything i shouldnt. It does automatically delete a couple things that it thinks have viruses even when it doesn't, but for the most part it works out for me.

peace

Anything but Norton. McAfee's fine, NOD32 and AVG consistently get top ranks.

Avast! Home edition is free and very good. Better than AVG in my opinion.

I'm virus free and I don't run antivirus software.

But my beef with Norton isn't its virus-detecting ability. It embeds itself into the deepest nooks and crannies of your OS, interfering with other functions and rendering a clean uninstall impossible. Not just NAV either, all their software is shit these days (well Ghost is okay). It's too bad, I used to be a fan.
