I'd rather read it than see it, and I'd rather read about 1200 other books first.

If I had a beach vacation coming up I'd consider reading it, but in the meantime there's a lot of other shit I have on my plate literature-wise, and I'm having enough trouble getting on top of that.
I should be reading now!

nope not yet, though I got the book a few months after it came out.
The book was ok, nothing special, but I like the thorn in the side of those who are weak minded.
I might go see it, but definitely when it come out on DVD

I saw it on Friday night, and i believe that this is a film that everyone should watch. It definately gives people something different to think about, I am going to purchase the novel here shortly and begin to read it.. I have always been an open minded person being an agnostic, and this film was right up my alley!.... I would like to hear what others have to say about it though.

No, more like every major movie critic.

I heard the same. I'm reading the book, and I must say it's quite overrated. While the plot is nifty, I feel the book was very poorly written. The wording and dialog ue seems forced.

Most people hear things sucked or were good simply by hearing the one-sentence summaries from reviews. I have a couple of movie critics I read all the time because I feel they actually know what they're talking about. Do you do that, or do you just "hear that critics didn't like movie X"?

That's odd. I heard the book was great. It's just the movie that I heard bad things about.

I usually don't pay attention to the movie critics, unless there is a major consensus among them. I still plan on seeing the movie. But I'll just go in with lower expectations now.

Roger Ebert, despite being a fat annoying fuck, is actually a really intelligent cinephile. I read all his reviews, I also read most of the reviews in the Village Voice.
