A local newspaper in my town has posted a article on Salvia and the ban in which our state is getting ready to look into.
I took it upon myself to write a letter to the man who wrote the article, and give some of my input on the article. For some of the stuff said was not in fact true, and also my opinion on just the general article.
Please help me revise the letter i have written, if you feel the need to. Also if you feel maybe some more facts or something of that nature should be included in the letter - please tell me. Thanks.

Dear XXX,
I recently read an article on May 21, 2006, posted in the XXX by you. The article was titled “XX Lawmakers work to ban legal herb catching on with youth”.
I would first like to state that some of your “facts” listed are not entirely true. I myself have done this drug, and unfortunately LSD as well in my lifetime. I can tell you that these drugs are not similar at all. Maybe to the inexperienced, the time differentials are incredibly different as well as the dosage amounts required. LSD as people should know, is a lab produced based drug, as were salvia in an extract found in a natural grown plant. Also an LSD experience is approximately anywhere from 6-12 hours, where as a Salvia experience is that of 1-2 minutes at the most. Also, keep in mind that there is an instant tolerance build that doesn’t die down until a good 30 minutes to 3 hours.
I would also like to give my opinions on this incident dealing with the death of the child of the Chidester’s. I like how they believe the fact that due to the “salvia abuse”, this is what played a role in the teenager’s death. In my honest opinion, this family needs not to look for a scapegoat. Yet look at themselves and how they were as parents, and how they interacted with their son’s life. There was a reason behind the son choosing death, and it was not due to this drug. There were other problems, I believe that the parents didn’t know about, but it’s so easy to just say “it was this drugs fault”, due to the fact that the son did try it.
Too many of the parents and society today are making an image in our young adults lives that “Drugs are bad, don’t do them.” Yet when a teenager then experiences a drug and learns that drug’s are not as bad as the parents and society makes them out to be; they have this preconceived notion in there head that “all drugs are not bad and worth a try.” Parents and society at that need to sit down and tell their kids that drugs are bad, yet explain to them about each drug and what drugs are indefinitely something to not even get near.
It’s those who are stupid enough to jump into a drug, without knowing or having any information on the drug prior to the experience, who create problems for themselves. Salvia has been in local head shops for as long as 4 years now that I can remember, and have we seen any deaths locally due to it? I think not, but one person who choose to try a drug and make a wrong decision has brought much attention to something and is causing it to be a much bigger of a problem, then it actually is. . I feel this law is unjust, and should not even be passed. However, it seems more and more in today’s world – we are having our freedom to do what we want taken away daily.
Sincerely,
-------------------- At times I get consumed by my everyday life and will leave the Shroomery. Yet, every time drugs come falling into my life for fun.....I always think about the Shroomery and then I'm back!
