Drying the Shrooms

Hey, I don't have a fan or Desiccant, so I was wondering if I could just set the shrooms on paper in my closet for a few days... Will they rot?

you should be good.
when I have monster flushes and not enough room, I lay out sheets of tyvek and set them on that.
It takes up to a week, but you can get them really dry.
I suggest tyvek, not paper. But yes, letting them sit out will work fine.
Or you could just eat them...

do yourself a favor and don't talk about that stuff here.
just mentioning sales is a very bad idea.

cover them with a black shirt and shine a 60w bulb over them. that gets them dry fairly quickly

I put them in a box that I filled with (about 1cm high) of foot deodorizer, (absorbs moisture), and covered it with paper towels which I then put the shrooms on. Think that'll help a bit?

personally, I wouldn't.
I would worry about the shrooms absorbing some of that chemical.
when a desiccant comes in contact with a fruit, the fruit can absorb some of the chemical.
I could be wrong, of course. But if you're going that route, I would seriously build a proper desiccant chamber, they're cheap, quick and easy.
If nothing else, make some air space between the shrooms and the powder, like an inch or three.

Oh yea I have about 3 inches of space in that box, and the paper towels are just lying on top of it.
And also those foot absorbing deodorants are mainly just talc, which isn't poisonous, I don't think...

I also find cutting the shrooms in half lengwthwise helps to aid in the drying process also.
