After finishing my last final on Tuesday night I decided to take a nap. Well I just woke up from that nap (4 or 5 days long, i think). Does anybody here have trouble with oversleeping...it's haunted me all of my life. I'm sick of it.

I have terrible trouble with oversleeping. I find that I end up sleeping for as long as i have been awake preceding sleep. Sometimes it astounds me how some people can just wake up whenever they choose.

well its natural...but the gov and socity will never accept it. Our bodys are ment to sleep as long as needed...to repair what was used during the awake period. If your up 10 hours, you will need at LEAST 10 hours to repair all the cells damaged ect.
hybernating is also another thing that we humans i beleive are capable of doing. maybe not for half a year but i bet you could manage a couple weeks to a month. and i would say it would be good to great for your body to catch up on sleep and even surpase it to a point where you sleep more than awake...running around like zombies is just crazy. yet 90% of society would call what i just said crazy as fuck, then send me to the padded cells.

During the week I usually get along with 4-5 hours of sleep, because I am mostly active during the night, and have to get up early in the morning But when the weekend comes I really enjoy to sleep 12-14 hours each night, to get the sleep back I lost during the week. A friend of mine manages to be awake 6 hours and sleep 20 hours afterwards...such a lazy dude

I call complete bullshit on that. Sleep is mostly for the mind. The body will repair itself even if you are awake. Some animals hibernate because the conditions at that time aren't suitable for their life, so they sleep to conserve energy and live without food for a while.
ebass, that really sucks. Did you really sleep for days? I'm sometimes tired during the day, but if I get my 7 to 8 hourse of sleep I feel okay. Have you been to a doctor? Maybe Modafinil could help you. It's a wakefulness promoter that doesn't give you speedy effects.

i have problems
no light in my room = brain says sleep more i say well okay a bit longer.
then i wake up and no light in room = brain says sleep more i say well okay a bit longer.

................
Usually 9-14 hours of sleep. Don't generally ever want to get up. Don't want to sleep forever but...... sleeping is more interesting than being awake. Voices talk to you. You can fly. You can be nonexistent in between periods of flight.
It's a bad problem. I hope my new place will have adequate amounts (more than ZERO!) of sunlight for me.

I didnt even know this sort of thing exsisted. Sleeping for more then 3-4 days?? o_O that would almost border on ocoma or similar things. You must have a seriously super comfortable matress and bed set... (Memory Foam anyone?)
I've slept for more then a day before, but never straight through, and usually only when I am very depressed and even then I could not pyhsically sleep that long. I always get a very sore back which wakes me up. (anyone know why?)
I've been saving up for a brand new Memory Foam matress and can finnaly say good bye to sore backs forever! (Very cliche I know...shut up ^_^)
