Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to cross pollinate these two plants, and if so what results they got? I am planning on trying it as soon as possible.

Well, I was thinking of scarlet ohara and hbwr, since they look very similar as young plants, and with enough care I have found many plants can be cross bred, but not simply by growing next to each other, it's a pretty involved process. Guess I'll find out?!?!

involved as pollen blowing from one plant to another if thats what you mean. not much work if thats what you mean. if you are refering to geneticaly modifying them then yes. also insects do the work for you. if there was a way to interbreed hbwr with morning glory dont you think there would be multipal hybrids going around. cross breeding hbrw varities by hbrw varites is definitely possible, just as cross breeding morning glory varities by themselves is possible. you at least need plants in the same genus and same species is definetly possible.

I am following the methods of Luther Burbank, who effectively crossbred a strawberry and a rasberry, bred the "paradox walnut", a hardwood which grows as fast as spongy pulpwood, and an apple which was sweet on one side and sour on the other, just to name a few. The seeds probably wouldn't be viable, but who knows.

well he did cross breed out of a genus but not a family. They are both in the rosaceae family. the plant i believe you are refering to is Rubus illecebrosus. they have also cross breed by black berrys. this has also been found in nature. so im not quite sure how this compares ipomea to argyreia.

You probably right, but I've been experiment with all kinds of different plants, some with really great results, some with none at all, thanx for your imput. P.S., check out my thread on sprouting plants with electricity, cool stuff. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...4a2ff14cc5af0b0
