would a one pint jar of substrate be good enough to spawn a large amount of poo? lets say 10 lbs of hpoo?

1 pint should be spawned to 5 pints not much more.
No you should not, the chances are that it will contaminate.

i dont get it whats the difference with spawning 3 lbs of sub as to spawning less than lb? the only difference i see is the time, 3lbs would obviously colonize the hpoo faster than the smaller substrate. other than that why wouldnt it work?

time is valuable.
the longer it takes the more time contams have to get to the substrate first.
longer time = higher contam rate.
patience = not so good at this stage, here you want speed.

yes. The extra WBS is a nutrient supply for the bulk. WBS or whatever your spawn is not just an inoculant, it is also a key component.
I'm not knowledgeable enough yet to explain much further, but I know the substrate will use the spawn to recover quicker and have a resource or nutrients to continue on it's flushing.

If your trying to stretch this pint as far as you can why not do a grain to grain transfer. Ive seen quarts colonize 100% in about 10 days from a solid g2g!

I would not recommend spawning one pint to 10lbs. For the reason listed above, If it does contaminate not only do you waste a jar and time, you also waste 10lbs of poo that could have been quickly colonized if you have spread it among more jars, and the contam rate would likely be lower... if one out of 3 gets contam, least you got the other two. But if you feel the need to try, go for it and keep us updated
