i haven't done any psychoactive substances. i've been trying to get there intellectually ... haha ... no seriously, i've been putting it off in the hope of making my own separate breakthrough. so anyway, i'm in north carolina and will probably do some experimenting this summer. does anyone know what my odds are of finding my own mushrooms? or maybe whether i should look around for someone to help me (which i guess is what i'm doing) ... yeah i'm a loser. please help ...

calm down, and take a look around this site. there is information everywhere.
have you met everyones little friend? www.google.com
these forums also have their own search function. fit just for searching information here.
the main site of shroomery.org has "mapping the mycelial network" which will tell you which mushrooms grow in your state. once you know which actives can be found, you can look here www.mushroomjohn.com/species.htm or check around this site and google for all the information you need to know. where they grow, what season they grow during, what temps they fruit and grow at, what substance they grow on, and so forth. all the information you need is already out there, your not in need of help, your just a lazy bum
but now that you have an idea of what to do, get started!
remember, dont eat anything that hasnt been identified or you arent 100% sure thats what it is. feel free to bring photos and descriptions of your mushrooms to the hunting forum where they can be id'd for you.
stay safe, and welcome to the shroomery.

Hey there....new to the shroomery but am excited. Been years since I have experienced shrooming aside from using them for gourmet cooking. Anyway, I am also in NC, and would be happy to help you locate some, although I am not sure myself wether they are safe enough for consumption I live backed up to a farm where there are plenty of cows I have collected some and started on this site in hopes to educate myself a little more and in time hope to learn enough to be able to decide what is safe for consupmtion and what is not. Until then I am not about to be stupid seeing I have children and a husband fighting the war in terrorism. Anyway, would love to hear what anyone has to offer for help and feel free to message me as well. thank you and hope I don't sound stupid or too talkative. pj

PJ, if you are really interested in the psychedelic experience, and are motivated. Why not try growing? There is lots of info here, and you know it is safe if done right
