this is my first time working with not only pint jars but WBS. i made some pint WBS/BRF cakes and wanted to case them but not sure what dimmentions i should use for the casing? im going to case to 50/50 peatmoss/verm.

why would you bother making brf wbs cakes? if you do straight wbs then you can shake teh jars which REALLY cuts down on colonization time. if you are crumbling it all up to case anyways why do a cake? anyhoo just toss her in a ziplock and mash er up. then toss in a pan, i mix some hydrated verm in beucase wbs doesn't hold water well. then toss on a casing layer of your choice.

oh well thats really up to you. with only an inch you will get really really small fruits though. id go with at least 2 inches. up to 4 inches. 4 is about the max you should do. if you plan on doing straight grain later you don't need the ziplock from crumbling just pull out the grain with a spoon and its crumbles itself.

i have not had any problem with only using 1in casings.. if you check out my new post and check out the pin set on there and thats the 5th flush..... but I'm sort of new to this too.. (only 1yr growing) i have been doing 1 in WBS sub. with 1/4 to 1/2 cas. layers.. with great flushes... but we'll see...
