Dunking a colonized tray
    #5653076 - 05/20/06 11:47 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I have a turkey tray that i spawned wbs to horsepoo in. It is fully colonized now iwth no casing layer. Should I submerge it with some dasani water and put it in the refridgerator for a day to hydrate fully after the first flush or will this do harm?

It won't do harm but you don't have to put it in the fridge because there is a shitload of bacteria in the fridge.

No. Just put it in the kitchen sink or bathtub and let the faucet slowly fill up the tray until it runs over. Allow the water to run gently for an hour or two over the edge of the tray and down the drain. The running water will protect against bacteria buildup during the dunk, so no need for the refrigerator which is usually too dirty with molds from veggies and fruits to put an open container in. The refrigerator is fine for dunking cakes in sealed jars, but keep your bulk trays out unless you have a dedicated lab fridge that never sees food.
