question
    #5650991 - 05/19/06 05:27 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

can i use pf jars to spawn hpoo + casing in a tub?

can i spawn it even though its not 100% colonized?

why cant i just inject spores directly in hpoo if mycelium will colonize it anyways?

also when i spawn it what temp should it be?

yes

yes, but it's not optimal.

It might! But probably not. I'd advise spawning

Spawn runnings is best at 85F. Keep in mind growing mycelium emits heat

75F is optimal. As long as it doesn't fluctuate above 90F, there shouldn't be serious issues. You can have the AC set to maintain the room at 70F, and have a personal space heater heat the room to 80F.

Thats how I handle my fluctuating heat. If you got your house set on "cool" when the temp suddenly drops, it ain't going to do shit to warm you up, even if you set the thermostat higher. So a small space heater that has a set thermostat works my heat.

Poo lasts a long time. Especially in a sealed bag. In general, the older the better.

what if i want to initiate pinning and just leave it, lets say temp drops to 20F in the morning and then go up to 80F in the afternoon would that be good?

Eff no that's not good. Not saying it will kill the mycelium, but that'll halt growth completely. Temperatures like that are good if you're wanting to store spore solutions or LCs for long periods.

Get a space heater man. Have it keep you atleast in the 60s

You could use a tit(tub in tub) Also as a FC. Just put a clear top on it.
