I dont draw while tripping but almost always the day after, or when I have almost fully come down.
After tripping on mesc and shrooms at coventry (phish)
The day after 5 grams of shrooms.

Both of these were done to occupy my mind when I was having a hard time coming down from ayahuasca days later. I dont think I was meant to comedown.
Ispired by salvia. Can you see the shaman?
Hope you like them. I have many more but ive got to run.

You could shrink them. I suggest Picasa for simple photo editting. You can enhance color, shadow, highlights, etc.

I'm not a fantastic artist but I LOVE TO DRAW ON MUSHROOMS!!! Oh my god the way the visuals appear on the paper and you have so much inspiration you're trying to draw but it just ends up a big funky mess! I love it! Ht eway mushrooms "flow" contributes well to drawing, or even scribbling. Seriously mushroom induced scribbles are even artistic because so much thought goes into each each stroke of the pencil, almost like dancing is how I imagined it.

Walking in a neighborhood on ayahuasca. I couldnt make out much of anything. I spilled some shit on this piece, but I dont really mind that brown crap....... (+ an explanation)
I was not tripping and wanted to make a brainless piece of art.
Explosion and implosion of a city
A trippy self portrait. From back in the day, when I made art that actually would impress people. That was part of why I did realism for so long. It can be impressive(it impresses me and thats why I liked it), but I dont find it to be as interesting as some of my pieces that look like nothing known to man.
I am more likely to pick up my guitar while tripping. I forgot what I called this one. Its very much inspired by visual music. I could just call it "a funky jazz band"
LSA......Spilled some shit on this one too. Its best when looked at as a thumbnail or from far away.
 LSD
 psilocybin entities
LSD in a dimly lit room
river rue, mount aya (as if floating down a river in a jungle with a mountain in the distance)
inspired by Time, the human body, and LSD.

keep it up stemmer I usually write when UTI but sometimes I get a drawing in too. often I can barely scrawl In this salvia bath immersion, when I could hold the pen and stopped squirming I drew a self portrait that wanted to read what just happenned to the self and it kinda worked out in that stretchy sort of way that it was

Thats pretty cool. I didnt expect to be able to read it. I too am more likely to play music or write while tripping. I have even attempted realism while tripping VERY hard. I learned alot. Thats just about the only time I have actually been peaking and drew anything. Most of these were done the day after, or 12 hours after ingestion(of what ever substance). Typically I go on hike during the come up, and then reach home and have an amazing and long comedown in the dark with a bowl of dank nugs at my side. On low doses I just sit in a dimly lit room the whole time and smoke bud, alone. About 20 percent of my trips are with my only friend who actually understands these drugs and like myself, has an inspired capasity to speak about it at length. We have some really alien laughing sessions every time. There is nothing more exausting than talking for 4 hours streight to a person who seems to be reading your mind, and you theirs. I just wish we had a sound recorder. That would have been so very valuable. However a candid sound recorder might have ruined it and I probably would have told him during the come up without even thinking about it. Magical things happened with my good friend. No trip that ever followed avoided the effect of our group trips. So, I dont typically draw while tripping. Only time I have was in highschool. It was a long time ago, I still remember all my new insights about neurology/motor functions and everything that went with it. During a comedown, visual music took a back seat to the visual arts. I almost never would play the guitar or any of my intruments when tripping though. Its an uncontrived decision, and seems to just not be in the game plan.
By the way I wish I could read what you wrote RGV's...... Looks alot like my handwriting while tripping. Anyone's psychedelic writings are interesting to me. I have a book filled with writing, pictures, and graphs of that same type of stuff.

I'm normally pretty good at drawing, but last night I couldn't really draw anything. It was my first time and a low dose though, so maybe I'll draw the next time I take.
While coming down I scrawled a picture of the inside of a mask I wore while tripping. The picture was pretty bland and uninspiring. I was a little dissapointed. While peaking I wrote a little, but felt a little too lazy to really put anything down. "Battle axe toads" ended up on the paper though.

Your file size is too big? or you cant find the "upload images" area?
hit the reply button, (next to the quote button). Just below the blank page there it says"put pictures into this post". Click that and you will get to the upload page. If you have not uploaded any images just clicking on "my pics" might work. Once images are uploaded hit "my pics". They will be in your gallery. Highlight the big long ass code under the bottom of each picture. Copy it and paste it onto your post. It should look like one long messy code. Hit continue. Your picture will be posted.
To reduce file size, you can use almost any the paint program's stretch/skew option.

When I look at jst31's piece I see a great piece of psychedelic art. I see keyboards, mushrooms, spirals, aztec-like design, and the occasional double helix. Above all I see some serious eye candy.

I like to draw occasionally when I get high. I've only drawn anything while tripping once...

It was weird, completely spontaneous, but pretty fun.

Yeah, it says Psilocybe in the middle, right below the mushroom caps. Almost everything else is just spontaneous - took many days of tweeking, ha.

Ya, I love threads like these..........
 some random mushroom inspired art
Sky wind and trees (oils) inspired by a high dose of lsd in the forest.
The divine wave...........I saw this on something almost as small as a pencil erasor while on mushrooms(it was actually a dried mushroom that I was looking at in amazement). But as we all know, the human field of vision contains many erasor heads(this on is meant to be looked at from far away so the thumbnail it the best way to view this low quality/dark photo). That was a very special trip for some reason. All sorts of weird and amazing shit followed that grand connection with the visuals. It happened while looking at a mushroom and no other object in the room could do the same thing. Reminded me of some of T mckenna's experiments with violet psycho-fluid etc.

bOth of you last posters have alot of good design.
Those first two you last posted were tasty "the_psychonaut" . Somehow they almost remind me of old-school oriental artwork with a visionary twist. very trippy.
I tend to think the artist himself knows best when it comes to crazy visionary art.
The last one of yours has some weird composition(where is the center of attention?), but I like it. Maybe I would avoid scribbles as are seen in the bottom left of the first one. I still think they are great. I do love those first two.

I guess I'll add a couple others then. I was probably pretty high when I drew these, so it's close enough to the topic I suppose.

Nothing spectacular, I'm hardly an "artist," drawing's just a fun thing to do while high/tripping, and always occurs spontaneously.

standard acrylics with a variety of brushes. it's actually only the 4th painting i've ever done (not including stuff from way back in art class of course, but my art back then was never anything remarkable anyway and i lost complete interest by 8th grade)
of course its no alex grey painting but if you could see the details of it i think you'd be hard-pressed to believe it was someone's 4th painting, which makes me very excited. i sold it for $40 to a friend, which made me even happier.
lsd exposed a talent in me i never knew i had. too bad most public schools art classrooms are overcrowded and understaffed, i might have realized the talent years ago and made something of it. go figure

Can the critics still deny that the geometry of matter is directly related to the harmonic interweaving of light itself? There is no substance, in the absolute sense. Wonderful stuff, as most art threads are.
I've never been an artist. I see art as something that most people (not all) have inside them. Even those of us who aren't artists have seen some of the most artisticly beautiful things in the world in dreams or trips. Our minds can create the images. The task of art making, to me, is the quality of the connection to those places in the mind, and an ability to portray them so to other people without totally destroying it in translation. Clearly, it's a connection all you people have.
I'll share something.
First: Yes, it is trash. I'm not one of you guys... but I haven't taken an art class since early middle school, well over a decade ago. Nor have I really done anything on my own since then. I just can't spit out what is in my head. It's clear for an instant, then when my <blank> hit's the paper, it is cloudy, gone, or geometrically ruined.
This image is, however, interesting to me. It helps show me the way my mind thinks (especially on acid). The process of making it was unique. As seen on the right, middle, one face just turns into another, and another. the image you're drawing one second vanishes, and you see the lines appearing elsewhere, you almost only need trace them. (in this case, an eyeball that would be intended for a face would become that of another face, and another).
Anyway, I just find it neat that without really thinking, bizzare creations unfold themselves, even when just doodling on a donut receipt. If I was someone with developed art skills, I can't imagine I'd want to do much but create art, and trip if it so inspired me.

edit: yes, the top is digitally altered for unimportant reasons.

The mirrored pieces are just as you said--mirrored. Identical on both sides. It's kind of a cop out, but it creates all new images in the middle where the mirror meets the original.
If you look at the really complex one, you can see a figure in the middle that is the original source for both "halves" used to create the individual figures.

If you are talking to me, I have not used any mirrors. None are edited digitally.
As far as mirrors....which one are you talking about?
All pieces I have posted are done in chalk, black permanent marker, oil pastels, charcoal, or oil paints. No mixed media. My rules for the art I posted are in order to create totally uncontrived/improvised art. All but two were done within 45 min. My other rule for myself is no corrections, no erasing.

It's always nice to draw when tripping, but I suggest some of you bind those loose drawings into a book so they dont get all messed up over the years. It'll be nice to look back at what you've done and remember (or try to remember) what was going through your head. Oh, but don't bind the book while you're tripping...
Here is one that I've done, it has little doodles, thoughts, and even a photograph or two I somehow managed to take.

sorry the pic is so small

What I like to do is open photo shop 7 when come up starts. Take a picture of myself with a digital camera. Save the picture. Then a the peak of my trip or at the proper moment I take another picture about me. And when it comes down I take one more picture. Save those pictures and put them all at different layers so that only Eyes are at the same spot. Usually I have to modify the resolution to make them match. Then I flatten the image, make auto levels and color balance perfect. Here comes the fun part. I open a tool called Liquify and start liquifying that image so that all those parts of my face goes to the places where they should be. Nothing else. Then maybe take a sketch or some other tool to make it look like drawn to paper or as it was from some comic. Set random colors with gradients to black as if those colors are making a shadow. Save it and post to my mom as an art that I've done at school. She never knows what inspired me...
