Ok, so we all are getting tired of us newbies with questions that should be answerd by looking back a few days in the archive. But alas I have one more. Hopefully this is just my first and only error.
on to the problem!
I made up 12 jars last week with PF TEK and habe not recived my spores to "bring them to life" just yet. I was not aware of this great site just yet so I think I was a little of on the steam steralization times. I used a steamer from walmart and only boiled for 35min at a medium boil. I now know that 60 min is preffered. As of yet I see no contamination in the jars and no bad smell is eveident.
Am I in the clear? What should I do if now?

you may be okay, but why risk it? whats another 45 mins on the stove going to hurt?

be warned that it takes a while for bacterial contams to get a foothold, you jars may not smell yet, but later it might be a different story.

35 mins is not enough, if you dont lose 75% of your jars itd be a miracle.

Does the PF Tek say 35 minutes? NO!!!! You know nothing. The PF Tek is far wiser than you are. Don't mess with it. I'd dump the entire batch and start fresh when you get your spores.
