Is This Good Grain? How do i work with is?

This is what i got considered A "Rye" Wheat.. Supposedly no one around knows wat rye berries or even just rye grain is, the is the best i could com up with from the local food stores, any guess how to cook this stuff? Check out the pics ---

I think its rye but it kinda looks a tad diff but i uno

i would do empirically the same thing with that as you would with rye, in fact it looks alot like rye, and i know of at least one poster in the past day or two who did a cake with that stuff, and fruited off the cake. so yea, it'll colonize, but he also said it took a while to colonize, unlike rye in its tenacious ability to colonize fast as hell. but, given the fact that ive only heard one report of using that, it could've been his moisture content that made him wait so long. for all i know, this stuff could be the equivalent of rye in colonization. report back on this please, as im sure everyone would like to know of every possible grain to grow on, since some, like you, are limited in supplies due to regional tastes/interests.

Looks like good stuff, but you got the animal feed version. Sometimes but not always, they add fungicide to feed grains to increase shelf life in damp barns. If that's the case, spores won't germinate on it, but live cultures will work fine. I guess you won't know until you try it.
