50/50 is the ratios for casing mix (50%verm, 50%peat).
Substrate should have twice as much verm as it does BRF.
A good beginners casing is straight verm steralized in the
oven (20 min./300 deg.) before the water is added.

50/50 is great, but add some lime or Oyster shells ( 100%Calcium Carbonate) for a ph buffer..
10 parts verm
10 parts peat
1 part lime flour

Yea man, just do the 50/50+ mix.
Heres from the man himself how to make it: (I added my own personal modifiers, others may comment on them, but they worked for me)
15 cups vermiculite
15 cups peat moss
4 1/2 cups crushed oyster shell
2.4 cups of hydrated lime !!!!!(just use 4tbsp)!!!!!
1 cup short of a gallon of bottled water !!!( just add enough so when you squeeze the stuff barley any water drips out)!!!!
This will make enough for a good 3-6 medium to large casings depending on how big they are.
Ok, Im a beginer and this 50/50+ is great if you can get a hold of the oyster shells and hydrated lime! try it out, if you have the patience and time, youll f*@#$ing rock at growing. Studying helps too!! I read an hour a day at least on growing., decide what you think looks best for yourself!

Anno, You Rock.
I'm innoculating EQ's today. So I'll be a little behind you guys.
Let me know how you are doing. I use the 50/50 but add some coco coir to it, it worked great on my last batch - Just finished first flush.
Peace,
Bob

My friend cased a pint of EQ's on rye flour. He decided to make the casing layer a little thicker just for experimental purposes. The resuls were strange!!! A few mushies have grown but they are long w. small caps and are yellowish colored!! Anyone know if this is ok to eat??!?!? Thanks!!!!

I have been growing out EQ's... it is in the third cycle now. Colonization on my jars seems to be very slow. But the potency on these EQ's is amazing. Friends keep commenting on how potent they are. So Im satisfied.

Yes, I have fruited through 4 generations of EQs now. Amazing little fruits. I have only been working with EQs for the past 4 months, actually. Just now I am going to be working with Tazmanian strain. But EQs definately are worth it. VERY potent

What the hell is that? Looks almost like a birth, bit that doesn't look like a baby. Is it a huge hemeroid (sp.?) or something?
