ID NewZealand - Subaeruginosa

Found in local bark garden, deep dark bluing on stems and gills. One measures up to 7cm in diameter. Awaiting spore print.
Also wondering if they go all soggy does it effects the potency much?
Cheers people

weird looking - if they stain blue, grow on wood debris and had a purple/brown then they look like subs.

Some more pics, I think I struck gold

The spore print is more dark brown/black, no real hint of purple, despite what it looks like in the photo.

Yeah, you struck gold. Plenty of bluing and the spore print looks about right.
edit: next time try leaving the spore print for a bit longer (at least 12 hours, 24 to be safe) and you'll get a better print.

I ate seven decent size ones this morning..........and thumbs UP for sure! Very intence, but short lived. Mushrooms are very serious creatures indeed, they have much to teach. I give them my full respect.
Thanks guys for all your help
Peace to you all

Definately got Ps. aeruginosa there and I like the way you exihibited them laid out seperate and close enough on the pic for distinguishing a large collection like that.....always easy for a little sneaker to slip in.......Subaeruginosa spores will also range to dark chocolate brown but safer to stick with purplish spore prints as this can eliminate alot of problem mushrooms although there are poisonous shrooms in the Subaeruginosa(EDIT:Psilocybe) group with purple-brown spores but they dont bruise that distinct no doubt about blue......make sure anything thats intended does this like yours obviously do.....dont get more intense blue than that ......those are SCARY blue !
Id say EUREKA on that pile......you found some gold (as youve verified)

Few of them don't have obvious blue bruising, tho they were all growing so close to each other.....Is it still unlikly that a poisinous one is growing amungst them that looks so alike? Cause my whole collection differs quite a bit....still a bit worried

Ive found more deadly mushrooms touching good mushrooms more times than I can count......we've had multiple postings recently of poisonous Hypholomas from Zealand and Aussieland as suspected SUBs.....one of them now considered a Psilocybe itself has the same color spores and can look identical and also occurs on wood.....this mushroom Hypholoma (Psilocybe) fasciculare has accounted for several deaths in Europe but is distinguish from SUBs by NOT bruising DISTINCLY BLUE like yours
If as you stated your SUBs are ranging in Dark Chocolate Brown range without Purple hues which tho not as common.....they can.....and not bruising Blue.....this is not a good combination......you want to for safety reasons stick with Purple tinted Dark Brown to Purple tinted Blackish spore colors in combination with distinct Bluing reaction for Psilocybes for reasons stated.

EDIT: sometimes cutting or slicing in pieces will expose the bluing

Yeah quite right - we have poisonous Hypholomas and galerinas in Australia and New Zealand that share habitats with subaeruginosa so its very important to be sure. I would use blue staining and the spore print as good indicators.

Once again....EUREKA Jackpot!
I say that because we have some almost identical mushrooms(Psilocybes) in Eureka, Calif. that are also prolific in bark gardens....
are these you first SUBs ?.....you should bark your local plots and transport some of your verifiied bark close to you.....works !
Remember your proper ID markers cause deadly Galerina (and others)also like bark gardens and can be growing touching your SUBs !
