i was just wondering. ive read curing is to make the buds smokable and flavorful, but that made me wonder about a vaporizer. thanks.

nope not necessary...curing does a couple things...it makes for a less harsh better tasting smoke, it converts a precursor to thc which is present in bud into thc...and it helps to reduce vegetable matter(which is why it tastes better)...so curing not only increases potency due to the precursor but since your reducing the overall weight it also goes up in potency that way as well...I cure my personal bud...it makes for some really crystally lookin weed as well...but to answer your question while curing is something I like to do it is in no way needed to vaporize

It is still strongly desireable, however. Weed toked through a vaporizer tastes exponentially better than smoke, but the weed's individual flavor will show through. If the bud has been poorly cured, you will taste some of the chlorophyll (it's kind of tangy and acidic, but not in a pleasant way).
On a kind of related note, some buddies and I figured we'd be fine vaping leaf, since we'd just be getting the actives, not having to smoke the leaves themselves. It tasted awful. I don't recommend it.
But yeah, it's not a huge issue in buds, just be aware that curing influences the flavor of the vapor in the same kind of way it influences the flavor of the smoke.

I don't think I've ever had vaped cured...I broke my piece using a mini torch from radio shack(not that recommend buying ANYTHING at radio shack lol...over priced garbage) but if I had to do again it would work...I used it for a while cracked and resealed from the heat...but a lil bump was all it took to shatter it
