Discussing Growing With Vendor

What is the correct protocol when contacting a vendor?
I think I may have gotten two dud syringes from one. In contacting the vendor, I will need to convey that the spores did not result in myc. But if I say that the spores did not result in growth, I'm effectively admitting that I'm doing more than looking at the spores with a microscope. I don't want to put the vendor in an odd position.
So what's the best way to convey to a vendor that two syringes might have been duds?

proper response would be...
I was looking at your spores with my microscope and I didn't see anything happenin under there.

Ugh. I was afraid you were going to say that.
Which is unfortunate because I don't want the vendor to think I'm jerking him around. I did two runs (8 WBS, 1LC each) and no growth (myc, contams) in either. I've even sacraficed a jar every now and then to check moisture levels, they're perfect. And everyone else is telling me that it sounds like a dead syringe.
Maybe I'm over analyzing this. I just don't know if it's my fault (and I should just buy more syringes) or if it's the vendor's fault (and I should get a replacement syringe).
When in doubt, what to do?

Yeah, but I'm new. I HATE having to "make up" for something that isn't my fault. Since the absence of growth (of any kind) might very well be my fault, I'm quite hesitant to put it on the vendor to fix.
On the other hand, everyone seems to be opining that it sounds like a dead syringe, so I don't want to have to shell out money twice for a working syringe.

Just ask them.
they know what is up, they've maybe even read one or two of your posts.
they are not new to any of this. happened only once to me and I wrote an e-mail. be professional and so will they.
relax and just do it.

Yeah, I PMd the rep/user here, he instructed me to email their sales staff and said they'd take care of it. Painless.
It's just generally not my thing to complain. =)

Just tell them about your experiences under the microscope. You should be able to see what spores are there.
