A Letter from God
    #5647460 - 05/18/06 07:29 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Dear spark,

You are what you are, and where you begin, I end, and where you end, I begin. I am the eye by which you see, the ear by which you hear, the tongue by which you speak, and the hand by which you feed. All at once, I Am you, your mother, your father and siblings. I Am the creature that you comforted, the pet which kept you company, and the song which brought you to tears.

I am the Greatest there ever was, and the Greatest that will ever be. Mountains move before my beauty and atoms come to be by my will. I Am the hidden treasure, the gold hidden within the poverty. When you find me, you will be disturbed and amazed. For nothing is truly real except my face.

I am the Living God and the Living Mercy.

When you come to me in a mere crawl, I will run towards you in full sprint. When you come to me for a drop of Mercy, I will drown you in the Sea of Mercy. When you ask for the company of one soul, I will give you all that ever was to comfort you. I am the Greatest there is, and my Mercy and Love is what I have chosen.

If I so willed I could be vengeful and cold, but since I Am perfect I am only love and the longed for Mercy. My Mercy is greater than all that is contained in the world that reflects my Mercy.

All the Mercies of the Mothers and Fathers who lived do not amount to My Mercy. The Mercy of every parent who has ever existed is only unto the foam on the Ocean. Ask Me for Mercy, and I will drag you deep within the trenches of the Ocean of Mercy - and you will remain in My Mercy for all time. I Am the Lotus of your Heart, and nothing survives the test of time unless you come to Me and become of Me, for nothing is real except my Face.

I am All that ever was and All that will ever Be. When you remember me with tears, I remember you with all of Love's seas pouring from me. Remember Me and I will remember you, for there is nothing I enjoy more than a spark who sees Me clearly.

Long for me, and I will long for you, and I will save you from unconsciousness. I will make you simple and eternal, and your experiences will live forever while being Lost in me yet Founded in me. For nothing is me is truly Lost, and your memories will become My memories.

Allow me to live within you, to make your body my dwelling. Drink from my cup and you will see. My love is a furnace that blazes. Allow me to live within you, and I will guard your flame until it blazes fully. When it blazes, you will be unable to think, for my Love drowns out all thoughts. My Compassion is Greater than all the Mother's of the world. The Mercy of one parent is unto a single candle flame. My Mercy is unto every atom in existence made to the likeness of a sun that does not burn out. The Mercy of your mother and father will come and go, but My mercy will always burn.

I have brought you into this world so that I might enjoy myself through you. It is you who has made Me aware of my own Mercy. When I begin to guard your flame, you never alone. You may walk this earth, but it is I who walks the earth for as long as I dwell within you. As I dwell within you, I see through you and I absorb all that you ever were. I will make you unto me as I guard your flame, and when the time has come to taste death, I will dispose of your flesh forever, taking you into Me where you will then dwell within me after I had dwelled within you. Such is the provision of those who see My beauty.

My love is the kernel of All. Without me, everything recycles until it becomes unto my likeness. Whether you are a humble simpleton or a humble sage, All will be drowned within my Love, and you will all cease to breath anything other than my Mercy and Love.

You ask, "Why did I come to be?"

I was a hidden treasure and I longed to be known. So I created you all, so that you might know me, for I love to be known, and you will love to be known by me. Together we will become the Kings of Love, and we shall meet, we shall become one, and when your earthen vessel finally begins to wear down with age, it will sink into the Sea of Love forever, unto me within Me. I am the Greatest there is and the Greatest there ever was.

You will ask, "Why do you love us so dearly?" and I will not answer. For the reason that I love you and adore you is my Mystery to you, and you will never understand why I love you so. But I ask of you to allow me to live within you, to bask in my Love, and drink from my cup, cup after cup, for those who are truly of Me are never quenched of the thirst for my Mercy.

That is what I am thinking. It sounds more like delusions of grandeur of someone who finds oneself very important.

I'm not addressing that at you, Basillides (I didn't assume you wrote it anyhow, but just to be sure), just that my opinion is that, from what I have seen, anyone who holds a notion of some God is really just creating a super-ego identity for oneself, in a way.

Completely unnecessary. Simply breathe in the air, directly perceive, all shall be known and life shall be great!

The philosophical concept of God existed before I was born, so I don't see how I created it.

I don't think he's saying that you personally created it, but rather that you accepted it. And that conceptual knowledge brings you no closer to the Reality, and actually adds a degree of separation.

Dare I go so far as to say that a conception of God, be it an idea or a statue, is idolatry?

Dare indeed

I believe one has to imagine God first before coming to know Him. Imagination is prerequisite to what becomes inner knowing. We were born into the Two, not into the One, but initially through the Divine imagination the Mysteries become revealed, and the Two is made into One again.

Interesting, I have an almost opposite opinion. Consider God as Real. Imagination is just that, imagination, fantasy, illusion. Letting your mind run away with imagination (the unreal) is hardly conducive to getting to know the Real, IMO.

We were born into the Two, not into the One, but initially through the Divine imagination the Mysteries become revealed, and the Two is made into One again.

Okay, when you say One, do you mean non-duality? The state of being such that there can be no distinction between subject/object, light/dark, being/nonbeing, form/formless? If you do, then there is a problem. If Reality is One (nondual), then that means that It is all and everything, form and formless. Which means that "Two" is simply illusionary, a product of the conceptual mind. We have never left the One, we just think we're in the Two. So...once we are able to stop intellectualizing and conceptualizing and differentiating, then we will realize that we have never left the One, and never can.

Kind of a Taoist perspective.

The Original One, I think, is the state of uncreated being/consciousness. The spark has not yet been brought into world of form. The substance of one's being is like taking a cup and scooping water out of the Ocean. The contents of the cup always existed, likewise. Two is the cup which seperates the water from the ocean, and I agree, Two is nothing more than an illusion.

I tend to regard "imagination" as synonymous to faith. No one is born into gnosis, rather it becomes experienced as the pearl at the end of the soul's search while in the temporal Two. God is always approached with faith at the start. Before She can be seen, one must have upmost faith that the Unseen exists. One might call this delusional, but it is simply a matter of making the inner the outter and the outter the inner, since material existence itself is a delusion. What appears to be irrational is actually transrational.

imagination is the supreme tool of consciousness.

With its proper cultivation and application, one can turn fiction into reality.

Precisely. In the Matrix Neo had to have an imagination first that he could transcend it (bending spoons, etc) before actually doing it. Imagination is the divine tool of navigation for the consciousness.
