Cakes Dunked Before Casing

Now say I had a particular situation where I had dunked my PF cakes for awhile, but then decided to case them - Would the dunking negatively impact mycelial and/or fruit growth? If I were to case with already-dunked PF cakes, would I need to cold-shock the whole casing in order to have a better chance of initiating pinning when the time comes?
Also, I was wondering what type of impact a wide range of temperatures ( not hot or cold enough to cause major damage) would have on mycelial and fruit growth - does this simply slow production, decrease potentcy, or what?
Thanks

I've always dunked cakes before making casings with them with excellent results!
-------------------- Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy. Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

All dunking does is rehydrate the mycelium network, as with PF cakes mine were also somewhat dry when I birthed/cased them. Dunking isn't necessary but will definately not hurt things.
It is fine to dunk then case.
Colder temps will cause slow down the pinning a little bit. Higher temperatures I'm not sure but I know that the drop of temp between incubation and birthing (about 10F) is important to trigger pins. GL

Thank You, I appreciate the responses. I was worried that the dunking might provide a more suitable medium for contaminants to grow in, but I was very sterile. Thanks again
